They may have bought something for themselves, but the cashier rang it up under your registry.

I had that happen too! Someone bought me something from my registry (which I received from them) and must have bought something for themselves (cause it is on there now too! )

This happened to me. My sister asked that I take our blender off the registry b/c she wanted to buy it for us & didn't want anyone else to buy it. So we removed it, then when I was being a dirty peeker last week, I saw that it was on there as 0 requested 1 purchased. I didn't ask my sister if she had done this b/c I don't want her to know I was peeking.

When we registered there, we were told that if we got something off of our registry and it showed on their computer/list or whatever, that we could return it for cash or something else. So maybe they are giving us an option that if we get something we didn't want, we could bring it back to them and get something we wanted. Does that make sense?

I've heard about this happening a couple times...if someone buys something off your registry and buys themselves something at the same time it may show up on your registry. I guess it's just a glitch in the system.

We had this happen. Someone got us two things from our registry and then picked up something. When they went to the registry they handed our registry and all the gifts. It now comes up on your registry..

I think they did buy the other thing for us though, it's compliments our item and was right next to the thing they bought. I guess if I don't get it I won't be upset.

Yes, it happens a lot. It might actually be a good thing though. Sometimes people like to go off the registry and buy you something different. BEd Bath & Beyond gives them the option of putting it on your registry because anything on there you can return for cash with no receipt.

they do that so other guests know they purchased it for you even though it wasnt on the registry to prevent duplicates.
