Re: Has anyone even thought of favors?
The only thing that I have come up that is inexspensive and something that I would like is at the reception I am going to put out something for each person saying that they will recieve their favor in x amount of weeks and then as soon as we get our video from Duet I am going to copy the portion that is the recap and burn it onto a dvd and mail that to each person. My fh came up with this and I really liked even if some other people weren't to hot for it....heres the post
thanks and it will be reasonlable...less that $3 per couple and since everyone seems to think that people want something to walk out with I figured we could do some little candy thinks from Jean M
ETA: the $3 will also include postage and envelopes...can't beat it

I think we're doing a donation in lieu of favors. I'd also like to do the votive placecard holders.

I was actually thinking about donations instead of favors. I like to be really involved with community, so I think that would be fitting. It's just which charity?

If I was going to spend any large amt of money on favors I would definately make a donation to a charity, but Im desparately trying to cut costs so I am making everything myself... anyway, if i were trying to pick a charity I would pick one that was close to my heart... for example, my dad passed away of colon cancer... so i would try to find a cancer charity... i also used to volunteer in a pediatric playroom of a hospital... so a childrens charity would also be meaningful...
hope that helps

Re: Has anyone even thought of favors?
We're getting married a couple of weeks before Christmas so we're thinking of giving out christmas ornaments as favors. Still looking for something reasonable. We don't have a lot of money to spend on favors.

Re: Has anyone even thought of favors?
we're getting married on a vineyard so we are having bottles of wine favors. (Smaller ones, not full sized) For about $6-8 each. (can't remember how much truly) one per couple. I'm toying around with either the place card pic frames or the bottle stopper. But, I really don't need anything else either.

Re: Has anyone even thought of favors?
Since my FH and I love choclate we are doing the Chocolate Hershey's Bar that say Here they are. Then there is a beautiful red box basket that is at my job...i work at a wholesale basket company. so im going to ask to use that and in the box have the chocolate which my MOH and I are doing then a picture of Emmanuel and I that we are going to do a few months before the wedding and then a scroll that is a thank you for them spending there time with us.
Then as a BIG FUN. i will be playing a game in the middle of the reception where each table gets a turn to answer a question about us and whoever gets the answer right from the table they will take the table centerpiece home. Good idea because i don't want them to go to waist plus what am i going to do with them when its over.

Re: Has anyone even thought of favors?
I am making my favors. They are going to double as a pic frame and table card setting. Attached will be 2 hershey kisses wrapped in tulle and a bow with our name on it.
I am also planning on doing a poem book.

I might do something like candles cause I want people to use the favor not just throw it away.

That's what I'm doing -- they came out beautiful and they were inexpensive to make (I decorated 3x3 pillar candles with tulle, flowers, etc). About 2.50 each.

Re: Has anyone even thought of favors?
Try Fortunoff, We gave ornaments for my engagement party and were able to find a reasonable deal with such a large selection from Fortunoff. You may have to wait a couple of monthes before they start putting Christmas stuff out again. Hope this helps!

Re: Has anyone even thought of favors?
I might try the Lenox outlet in riverhead but everyone gives those trinket things,,,I don;t want to give a favor just to give one. My MOH is getting married in July and they are giving away Jamesons Irish Whiskey with a recipe for Irish Coffee...I was thinking of giving bottles of wine
