Has anyone ever done an escorted tour?

I did one when I was in HS on a school trip and it was really fun! It's nice having a guide, and not having to worry about getting yourself from place to place--also a great way to see a lot in a shorter period of time.

My parents just did one in Italy for 12 days I think and had an AMAZING time! Another perk for them was that they were with a group of people so they made friends with other couples and things like that, which they enjoyed also!

i think it depends on how you and chris are. Some people its great for them and others its not. Personally joe and i hate a schedule on vacation. Even when we've gone with a big group we do our own thing bc everybody else wants to do this at noon, another thing at 1pm, and everything is just too scheduled hahahaha. We like to come and go as we please, wake up when we want, get ready when we want and do our own thing. Explore things on our own

ohhhh boy. lolol. I went on one with my mom in ireland. we always giggle when this comes up. we say 'yes we were bus people'
here's what i have to say about it
1. there is really NO BETTER WAY to learn about the place you are visiting. having a local take you to and fro is really the best. and there is so much detail and culture you get from a real person vs. a book. stories etc.

2. its a schedule! usually waking early too. also it seems that your always hurrying to get somewhere on time only to wait for people who are running late.

so the later is why my mom and I roll our eyes - and why we got a little grouchy toward the end of our trip. but even though we joke - we always say that everyone should do it once, maybe not for the full duration of your trip though.

If that's the case then a guided tour would be great! FH and I are like that. And when you make it to a foreign country you really want to see alot. Especially your first time there. I personally like the structure. It's nice to know everything is taken care of. They normally give you free tiem too to do what you want so you get the best of both worlds.

yeah do a more lenient tour, not one that makes you meet up at 7am to have breakfast, well for me i would never even make it. When im on vacation i never make it to breakfast and they serve until 10am lol. You can probably call and ask about this and they'll give you alot of info

yeah do a more lenient tour, not one that makes you meet up at 7am to have breakfast, well for me i would never even make it. When im on vacation i never make it to breakfast and they serve until 10am lol. You can probably call and ask about this and they'll give you alot of info

OKay we definitely would not be happy waking up at 7 on our honeymoon especially since DH wakes up at that time every day! Im gonna take a look at the site again now ans see what else they have. They even have tours for Morocco but DH said those are dangerous cause we wont be on a resort

If that's the case then a guided tour would be great! FH and I are like that. And when you make it to a foreign country you really want to see alot. Especially your first time there. I personally like the structure. It's nice to know everything is taken care of. They normally give you free tiem too to do what you want so you get the best of both worlds.

i think it depends, its not that FH and i dont like structure but we like to do things we want to do and when lol. We still do alot but different things. When we've been on vacation we like to go to certain restaurants so we prefer to go to particular places for example in spain the first place we want to try is this restaurant called Moo, and i have a few other places that are a must to eat at so i think the problem is i have my things set for what i want already. Our activities might different. For example were going to spain for our HM, i did all the research of everything to see there, restaurants, shopping, things to do. So while we visit gothic square for example we're going to want to also stop and go shopping or while walking around gothic square we'll probably see an outside cafe and say hey lets just try this place out. Then when we get back to the room want to relax without having to rush and at night go out to eat, go to the casinos which i dont think are on the tours and do our thing.

Plus for our HM we would like to be alone, well when we go on vacation and do things like the casino for example we always meet ppl and hang out and talk to them but go out to eat alone, even seeing sites have our quiet romantic alone time.

So it all just really depends. I think tours are great for alot of people but you can still have structure without a tour
