Has anyone ever waxed their armpits?

Original post by hbradio

Or consider doing this for the wedding? Aside from the pain aspect, does this even last for more than a few days? Is it worth it?

Want don't you try laser hair removal? I've done it and it lasts for weeks and then after about 5 or 6 treatments you are pretty much done, no more hair! Be warned, it does hurt but it is done quickly and you can get a topical anesthetica nd then you don't have to worry about it for another 5 weeks.

Ive never tried it....but I am open to most hair removal suggestions. Just not a bikini...now thats something I dont think I could handle.

I get Brazilian waxes regularly, but I draw the line at the armpit - the thought of it makes me shudder.

I agree

I did it as a 'trial' a month ago.. OUCH!! OUCH!! OUCH!!!

But I did last about a week and a half. However I thought I looked like an amazon women and my hair was not long enough plus I had a lot of ingrowns so not all of it came out, they had to pluck half of it!!!!!! She said it is better the second time you have it done, more hair comes out, lasts longer, so I recommend getting it done a month before (or more) your wedding, letting it grow back and then getting it done again.

I want to do it because brunette hair can look dark under the arms even after shaving. I tried going for a trial, but didn't realize I'd have to grow out my hair a quarter to half an inch (!) beforehand, so the lady couldn't do it. She did do a test patch for me to see if I could tolerate it, and while it hurt coming off, it didn't hurt afterward and I generally have sensitive skin.

I figure I do not have time to do another, full test because by the time I grow it out, wax, then let it regrow, I may not have enough time before the wedding for it to be grown out enough. So I think I will go like the Tuesday or Wednesday before the wedding to have it fully done and just hope I don't get red bumps.

Oh, what we are willing to do for beauty's sake!
