Has anyone gotten a 2nd job to help pay for their wedding?

Hey girls, I was just wondering if anyone here got a 2nd job to make paying for wedding expenses a little easier?

Right now I have a full-time 9-5 job during the week, looking for a second job, but I really don't know what I can do or what to look for. I thought of doing retail but it pays practically nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?? Thanks in Advance!

if you are at all a waitress or a bartender it's great money...catering

sometimes maybe house cleaning or something like that

I was a bartender as my job for a very long time & it was good money. This definitely helped me save for the wedding b/c if you can work a crowd you can make a lot of $$ whereas a 9-5 job you can only make what you make

Regarding retail, if you can work in a commission place then you have a chance to make more $$, but then you have to sell or make less money, so I am not sure if this is what you are looking for.

I was thinking about bartending but is it 100% necessary to go to bartending school in order to get a job as a bartender?

FH is a teacher - so even though he gets paid in the summer he is working as a waiter for extra $$$ for our house. I work FT and go to grad school, so i dont think i would get a job too.

I've worked a couple places that didn't require you to actually go to a bartending school....and it was good money

I don't know if it's an option for you, but I just worked TONS of O/T at my job & asked for extra assignments

I wish I had that option, my job doesn't do overtime. We just get comp time which dosesn't help my wallet lol!

I got 2 part time extra jobs. It helps with the money. But the time is rough.

i've been waitressing and hostessing for a couple of weeks now in addition to my 'day job'-- it's GREAT money, it's a lot of work but i like it b/c it's calorie burning work and i end up with quick cash at the end of the night... hth, good luck

what are you guys doing for a 2nd job? I would love to get another job, even if it was once a week. I am a salaried employee at my job, so even if i work over 40 hours a week (which i usually do) no O/T for me!

How much does bartending make?

I hear you can do wordprocessing work for $20+/hour and of course you can work odd hours too with all the shift work they provide. A bit boring though....

bartending completely depends on where you work and what shifts you get.

I work as a Partylite consultant as my 2nd job. I am a teacher, so this works great with my crazy schedule especially once September comes. I get to make my own hours and I can pretty much decide how much I am going to make. Typically, I can do a show from 7-9 and earn $100. I decide how often I work and what got me into it was that it cost me $0 to get started. If any of you girls are interested in finding out how to be a consultant and sell the most beautiful candles and accessories, FM me!! Now is a great time b/c the holiday book just came out. They have great incentives to earn $$ and free stuff when you sign up. It really is fun and easy!

Wedding planning is my second job!! just kidding By the time I get home from the city, it's between 630 and 7 PM, I don't think I could squeeze in another job. I just save everything I can because in 2 months, we will have no money left
