I know the 'bad' experiences, but wanted to know if anyone out there has had a good or great experience. Thanks.

I'm not using them because when I met with them, they had no idea what they were talking about. Plus, if there is a problem with a tux, they have to have another one shipped from down south. That's too risky for me. The tuxes seemed pretty nice though.

Hi,
I booked the MW long before I read any bad reviews. My wedding isn't until Sept. 2, so I'll let you know what happens. When my FI and I went in to book it back in May, we spent well over an hour and a half going through the book with them, they measured my FI, and the saleslady gave me slips of paper of where the out-of-town groomsmen could find a MW near them. Yesterday I received a call from them (something was wrong with a vest color), so I am going to the Huntington store tomorrow to sort it out. The man who called me was very nice and I voiced my concerns over what I read on this board. He assured me that if the sizes are correct in the computer, everything should be fine. We'll see. I chose them because I have heard too many tux places messing up on sizes, shoes, and such, so I figured it was worth a shot.

We are using them for our wedding this October, I can't worry about a bad review with them, I will hope for the best. I have to say I went to the one by the Smithhaven Mall and Amy was great everytime we went in (3 times with different people to get measured). I never felt she didn't know what she was doing. Now sure things can happen the day of with measurements and wrong sizes (let's face it, that can happen anywhere!) but all I can hope for is the best!

Experience

I just want to apologize because I just noticed your post asked for only good experiences. I didn't have a bad experience with them- they seemed organized, but the particularly woman who helped me (here in VA) was absolutely no help. She didn't know the different tuxes, etc. I couldn't even get passed the size portion with her. I think if you're all set with sizes and styles, you should do just fine.

i would be afraid to use them, not only because of what i heard on here. i went a few years ago to buy a suit at a store in jersey. of course i assumed they knew what they were talking about, since i didn't (my first suit). i feel like i ended up just haveing anything thrown on so they could get the sale. each sales person disagreed with another on the fit and stuff. just my personal opinion. i feel like they are too 'commercial' i guess. not sure what the right word is, but i think they are more concerned with money, thats all. but, i have been known to be wrong before. plus, i worry too much. it will probably be fine. just quadruple check the week of the wedding.

Please post reviews after your weddings. I have found Amy to be very helpful and concerned when I called an voiced my concern over the negative post. She told me that she would never ask a bride to handle everything herself if there was a problem. But I still have time to change if there are problems.

My wedding isn't until August 24, we are using mens warehouse because of the convience, GM are in different states. So far, it has been good, I found Amy in the Lake Grove store to be extremely helpful. I'm not worried. I'll post a review after my wedding.

What kind of deal do they have going at MW right now? I saw an advertisement for $49. Is that correct and what kind of tuxedo do you get for that?

Yes, get theknot.com coupon and you save a lot! I saved I think about $20 per groomsmen. I brought it in after and they still honored it. We got the regular one button, single notch tux with matching bowties and vests. See below, the color of the vests will be a cranberry to match the girls dresses. I think it came out to be $56 total and the shoes were free. It is a great deal! They don't have a HUGE selection though, we wound up finding something that matched luckily.
