That your single friends who were invited with a guest are taking or took the longest to RSVP. I feel like they are waiting to see if they meet someone before the RSVP date. It's quite annoying. I also have to say as for the couples who you know are going to come what it is so hard about filling out the RSVP and just sending it back in the mail. My RSVP date is May 9th and as of now we have 130 yes's our min. is 190 and we are def waiting on more than 30 couples to RSVP. We invited 240 people and we have only had a few no's. What really is so hard about the process?

OMG I totally agree!!! Our RSVP Date is TOMORROW and we're still waiting on almost 35ppl. What the eff is so hard about putting something in the mail - its already freakin stamped!!! And most of them are single friends that we invited with a date - arghhhhhh. They keep saying to us 'we're def coming, just not sure if we're bringing someone.'

That's exactly what I'm talking about. If they meet someone 1 day before the RSVP date is that really an appropriate guest anyway? How do they know if they will still be speaking to them by the time our weddings come.

I think it's them wondering if they will meet someone, but also debating who to take (if anyone) even if platonic. I had a few people confess this to me. I guess I can see where they're coming from but it's annoying waiting for them to detemine if it's worth bringing a date!

i just didnt invite my single friends with dates... we made the rule- you have to be living together- or engaged... though we may end up changing this rule based on numbers in the end...

That's why my single friends will not be invited with a guest. If they meet someone, I'll informally invite the bf or gf after the fact.

I invited my single friends & family with dates and I anticipate this happening to me as well and as annoying it will be at the time.. I'm okay with it and kind of sympathize that most people would like to bring a date to a wedding & i've seen it a ton of times where friends wait to see if their current relationship is 'worthy' of a wedding invite or if they have a date at that time.. etc. Irritating for putting together your lists and stuff but to that person it's important

Re: Has anyone noticed - RSVP Related
A good friend invited me to her wedding in August 2007, she included a seat for my Mom. My Mom couldn't make it and I sent in my RSVP late hoping to figure out who to take in her place.
I ended up taking a 'Friend' who I only had met once but had emailed with for a few months. He went to college with the Bride so I figured at least he would know people....I am now marrying him this September.
You never know, your wedding may bear great fruit for someone. Just sharing as food for thought.

I really can't understand why people can't RSVP in a timely fashion. While some invited guests may have certain circumstances (looking for a baby-sitter, maybe they live out-of-state, etc.) Others, just have no excuse! So many people that I know that are now married used to complain about people not RSVP'ing etc. and now they are the very ones that I haven't received anything from. So annoying! I vividly remember RSVP'ing on time to their event. This is the last thing that a couple should have to stress out about....

I feel the same way, reponse date is May 5th and we have so many outstanding responses, people are inherently stupid, I honestly think that, because how much intelligence does it take to take out the repsonse card, fill it out, put in back in the ALREADY ADDRESSED AND STAMPED ENVELOPE and put it in the mailbox?!?!?!?!?!?!? I feel your pain!!!!

Re: Has anyone noticed - RSVP Related
dont even get me started, this is so freakin RUDE to me. If I was nice enough to invite you with a guest when you are clearly not involved with someone seriously enough that you need to be figuring out at this stage in the game who you are going to bring, then you better have that sh*t figured out by the rsvp date. this annoys me to no end. And i KNOW someone is going to pull this on me, except they responded with a guest and i know they wont show with one because they dont actually have one to begin with, which is gonna royally p*ss me off.
breathe.

I also worry because the postage goes up May 11th and my RSVP date is May 9th which means they will have to add postage to them.

I confess to doing this when I was single.........
It wasn't a 'I have to wait to see if I meet someone' it was more a 'is this person someone I really want to bring'
