Has anyone (or anyone you know) been in this situation?

Has anyone (or anyone you know) been in this situation?

Those of you who know about the whole situation w/ FMIL, as it stands right now she says she does not care if she is invited to the wedding or now (recap: this is the woman who keyed my car). I plan on waiting it out becuae it is too soon to make any final desicions...although I can't see anything changing, and honestly I would not care less if she did not come. Anyway, my question is, has anyone ever had someone who was uninvited or banned from a wedding and how did anyone handle it? Did you do anything specific to make sure this person stays away. I really don't want to bother any of my guests to keep an eye out. I know this may sound paranoid, but she is the type that would show up to ruin it.
If anyone knows anyone who had a situation, please explain what they did. Or if anyone has any ideas. Just want to know what the possibilities are.

I am so sorry you have to go through all of that...I can now see and totally understand why you do not want her at the wedding... as it stands now, does she want to go?
Do you think his mother is acting like this b/c she feels you are 'taking' her son away?

I've been on your previous threads, so I know your story. I'll second the hug, because nobody should have to go through what you're going through.

If you don't want her there, tell her so, and then talk to the staff at the reception hall. Make them be on the lookout and not even let her in the hall. You and your guests should not have to worry about it.

Sorry you have to deal with this

If it comes down to it, I would just make sure the employees at the hall know what's going on and let them deal with the security issues.

Good luck!

That's horrible. You may want her there to keep an eye on her, lord knows what she will do alone, she could key everyones car or TP your house while you are at the wedding.
Can anyone 'watch' her? Have you thought of an order of protection?

The police told me that I can not get an order of protection unless she assults me physically. She says she does not want to go, but i think she says that to try to upset us...but it's not working. I think she thinks she can do whatever she wants.

This is just horrible. You may want to think about hiring private security for the day. It will give you peace of mind.

I've been to a wedding where the grooms parents were banned from the wedding. They told the hall to escort them out if they showed up. Thankfully, they didnt show up. But I would defintely alert the hall or hire security to make sure she doesnt ruin your wedding day.
