. . . electronic 'invitations' to ask people to be in your bridal party?

as you may know, I live in south america. I was planning on making something pretty and sending it out. due to some issue it curently is taking FOREVER to send packages out. (i was told about a month at least for it to get there) unless of course you use ups but since they don´t do that much business inthe country its extrememly expensive.

The thing is I can´t wait that long to ask them. we are going to be getting married in april and the only time to do a bridal shower would be during my trip in october. My sis (moh) already unoficially knows but I still want to send it to her too.

I was thinking of doing something through email for now and then following it up with a real one later on (i guess at that point it would be more of a thank you for accpeting to be in my bp and not an invitation but still).

Sorry this is so long but anyone have any ideas?

I think that is a great idea...how about mail (not UPS), can you mail a flat invite to them in the mail as a follow up, or you could even call them to ask and catch up at the same time and tell them you are sending them something via email or snail mail.
I called mine to ask them, didn't do anything special lol!! I gave them a nice bridesmaids luncheon about a month before the wedding though. It doesn't have to be an elaborate thing to ask your BP.

Maybe one of those pretty cards from Yahoo greetings or from this site 123greetings.com

what about hallmark.com?

im not sure what kind of invitations, or cards they have for bridal party, but i have used them for baby shower invites. You can make up the card, even type your own text, and if you want, put in the names and addresses where you want them sent, you pay postage through the site, and they can mail them for you.
