Yeah was for it before and still am. . have friends and family who have married in same sex couples and watching them plan too. . we're all the same, fights, love, stress, money issues, color disagreement but IMO ALL of the same sex marriages I have seen PLANNED completely together for their ceremonies.!!

Not at all---was always for gay marriage and always will be. They are not 2nd class citizens--they pay taxes, they work hard, they love just the same as we do....they deserve the same rights.

I think everyone should be able to enjoy being married, I've always felt that way, and hopefully it will happen sooner rather than later!

I never understood why some people feel gays, blacks, etc (in history I am speaking, but there are some people that feel this way to this day sadly) deserve LESS than we do. We are all people, plain and simple. No reason why ANYONE who is a citizen of this country (illegal immigrants are a different story) should not have the same rights as I do, or my neighbor, or a congressman, etc. I think it's crazy to think one person should get more rights than another.

I was in favor before and I am even more in favor now after I got married. Two people that love each other deserve the right to be married no matter what their sexual preferance may be,

Yeah I mean I remember my old neighbor talking about when she was married it was illegal for her and her husband to be together (white/black) couple and how they had to move to an area of the city where people didn't harass them in the street. . THAT seems so absurd now, though I do know inter-racial couples do still take some heat, but that anyone who is in love should be denied is crazy. . and
I have 2 gay friends where one is from another country and they can't even stay together b/c marriage won't let them live in the same place. . that to me seems SOOOOO unjust

Re: Has planning your wedding changed your perspective on the issue of gay marriage?
I was actually debating on doing a donation favor for the wedding by donating to PFLAG. And in the little card statingthe donation it would say something like 'we donated in their name to PFLAG because we feel that everyone should be as happy as we are today'haven't worded it right yet but you get the drift

Hey, Songstress- if you weren't already engaged, I would ask you to marry ME after that awesome Estrada pic.I love the flag-waver types who say gays should not have the same rights we have, because it denigrates the institution of marriage.
What these poor, ignorant souls don't seem to realize is that THEY are denigrating the institution of America and the Constitution.
It doesn't say 'All men are created equal….except those guys over there, because I disagree with their lifestyle.”
Isn’t that the point of America?

Re: Has planning your wedding changed your perspective on the issue of gay marriage?
I have always supported gay marriage. I went to New Paltz my first year of college, when Jason West was the mayor and allowed gay marriages to be performed in the town. I went to go see these marriages performed and it was an amazing experience. It was very emotional. Couples came from all over for this opportunity to be recognized and they all seemed so in love and so grateful. After seeing that, I could never feel that any couple in love should be denied this right.

Re: Has planning your wedding changed your perspective on the issue of gay marriage?
I am so glad to read all of these responses. And Songstress is again correct - hypocrites are the worst. All these people pointing fingers at gays ruining marriage- I'd like to take a peek into their own marriages. With the divorce rate what it is, it seems the straighties have done their own good work tarnishing the institution.I hope we all do better!!!

Re: Has planning your wedding changed your perspective on the issue of gay marriage?
I have always been pro-gay marriage. No one should be denied the right. Gay couples are being denied the benefits that couples gained once married. It is unjust and just plain wrong for anyone to come between two persons who love one another.

i'm a big believer in separation of church and state, in which case govt has no grounds to discriminate against same-sex marriages. this has been my stance all along.

Why is it that society decided 2 people should be together because one has a penis and one has a vajayjay. For procreation? Of course.Well then I guess we are only allowed to be in love if we can procreate!

Re: Has planning your wedding changed your perspective on the issue of gay marriage?
Everybody diserves to be with a soulmate and have true eternal love!FH is totally against this topic but I guess lucky for him he's not gay. We are christians and this is what it is in the church. Anyway Jesus loved and accepted all and so do I. I don't care if thats out of context or wrong bla bla bla im not a religous scholar I just respect the gays.
