I honestly don't want to get too into it but last night someone that I am VERY close w/made a comment about my ring. I believe that she was attempting to compliment it but it came out all wrong and I am hurt. She is a wonderful person (not petty or catty) she is married so it def isn't a jealousy thing.
She even helped FH pick out the setting!!!!! I am just having a hard time getting past it. We had been drinking and that could of brought on the poor judgment in words but it still hurts. I didnt say anything back to her b/c I was/am so shocked by what came out of her mouth.
Anyway if this happened to you did you ignore it & get over it or did you confront your friend? I don't want this to effect our friendship but honestly as of right now, I have no desire to even speak to her.

I probably wouldn't confront her - especially since some time has passed. She might not even remember the convo. Just try to put it past you, especially since you think she had good intentions. Some people just don't realize what they are thinking might not come out the way they intended it to.

I havent had any negative comments. I would really take it personally though because I picked out my ring- it would be insulting my taste!!

My friends havent said anything negative (not to my face )
I had a friend of a friend say smthing like FH must be broke and cheap bcuz my center stone isnt a diamond. I replied ahole when you learn the difference between real jewelry and that crap you wear then you can voice your opinion but until then ST*FU
My center stone is my favorite color as well as my birth stone....FH wanted the ring to mean more then its appraisal value.
Its priceless to me bcuz he actual sat around and came up with something that is very special and meaningful to us...n it was no ez task finding the setting I wanted n actually getting a complementing stone

People always have comments. They comment because they're jealous; they comment because they're miserable...they just don't know how to keep their mouth shut, haha.
For the most part, I get compliments about my ring, but someone said (not to me, but one of my friend's) that she thought it was 'too big' for my finger. My ring isn't like 56456156 carats it was just bigger than hers so it's like STFU stop hatinnnn.

I'm also curious about what she said exactly, you could be taking it the wrong way totally. The 'rudest' thing I've had anyone say would be asking how much it cost (yes, 2 or 3 people actually asked me this and definitely didn't get an answer!) and how many karats it is (I know some people may not consider that rude, but I think it is). I'd give it a day or two then let her know how you feel. Sorry she upset you, hopefully it was unintentional.
I've had a bunch of people ask me 'how much did that cost?' and a few even ask 'how many carats is that?' It caught me off guard the first time but now I really don't care. I tell them how many carats it is... not how much it cost though... FH bought what he could afford... some can't afford that much and some can afford more. Everyone's ring is special to them so if someone has something to say just ignore it.

I've had a spectrum of comments, most of which are that it was too big or too expensive but my favorite comment came from one of my BMS. FH was basically bragging about how big my ring was (it isn't that big) and shes like 'ohhhh ive seen much bigger' shut him right up! he wasn't happy, i was thrilled

When we FIRST got engaged FHs friend who has a big crush on him. took a look at it and said: Oh, that's... small. Um, I mean it's cute.
I took one look at her and said: It's bigger than the ring you'll never get.
