that I have been on this website for some time now and I feel that I have been holding back. I love the advice and ideas that I get on this site but have been afraid to share much about my wedding because it is 'untraditional' and some people may not agree with it. But, I feel that I must get it out. I am a lesbian and I am having a commitment ceremony. But at the same time it is exactly like a 'traditional' wedding in every sense but that I am marrying a girl not a guy. I am very 'girlie' and have always dreamed of the fairytale wedding. Luckily I have come into contact with numerous vendors that have been open and accepting of my situation. I think that I would have been devastated if I could not have the wedding of my dreams. I hope that I am not offending anyone and that I will still be a welcome member on the boards, but I just felt that I was almost lying when I came on here and wanted to be truthful! Thanks!! Don't even worry about it! I don't think anyone would ever discriminate against you openly about that (I can't say for sure what people think but I'd like to hope they don't think those things). But I know everyone here is great and very accepting.
Good luck and congrats-- a wedding is a wedding no matter who is being married! Sometimes I wish I was marrying a woman LOL b/c men can really be a pain in the azz!!

Who cares if you are marrying a man or woman...you are committing to that person and celebrating your love with those you care about! I just wanted to say, first off, you make a beautiful couple. Second off, same sex marriage is not a factor here. It's the fact that you love each other and want to spend the rest of your lives together, and share that with us, your friends and your family! Gender is WAAAAAAAAAAAY over rated when it comes to marriage. If 2 people love each other, and vow to be true, there should be NO hostility as to whom you choose as your life partner. Sooooooooooo....with that said, have the most joyous day ever, and know we support you wholeheartedly

ARE YOU KIDDING!!! OF COURSE YOU ARE WELCOMED HERE!!!! I'm all for it! My mother and I have huge fights about gay people getting married in church or just plain getting married. There is so much hatred in this world and I think that any form of love should be encouraged.
