have you and FH ever broken up?

Stolen from newlyweds....

Before getting engaged, did you and FH ever break up at any point while you were dating?

FH and I broke up in June 2007. He was still living with his whole family on Long Island, I was living in Brooklyn, and I was tired of making the trip and keeping the 'overnight bag' in my trunk. I started buying 2 of everything so that I could always have all of it at his house and my apartment. Eventually, I just got this feeling that 'it wasn't going anywhere' and I did what I really thought was best - I broke up with him and figured that if it was meant to be, we'd be together again. We were BOTH devastated. It was so hard being without him. After three weeks or so, I finally decided it was time to start getting out and having fun again so I went to the city with my girls. A guy asked for my number and I hesitantly gave it to him and decided, what the heck... why not see what's out there? In the midst of all of this, I was contemplating relocating to Philadelphia for work. While I was on my first date with that guy, FH called me (for the first time in 3 weeks!). I actually went to the bathroom (the new guy and I were at a bar) and took his call! Afterwards, I was so bent out of shape that I cut the date short and went home. That night, I told FH that I was going to relocate to Philly with work. That week, he started sending out resumes to firms in the Philly area. Three months later we were living in Philly. Four months after that, he proposed. I couldn't imagine life without him ever again!

Never. We have always been happy together. We both knew from early on in our relationship we want to spend our lives together!

never in the past two years that we've been together. we were hanging out three years ago but then we stopped talking, we were 'just friends'

Yes...we started dating when we were 15 so when we were 22 we broke up for a few months but are so much stronger now because of it.

we never broke up. our relationship moved very quickly. i moved in 5 months after we started dating. which for me was quick but we were happy so whatever.

I did actually break up with him once, although it was never like 'It's over , I never want to see you again - kind of break-up' it was just me in extreme ***** mode lolz.. and it was all over FH not knowing how to drive!! He'd already been living with me for about 2yrs in Queens..but FHs parents live far out in bklyn, its over a 2hr ride on the train..and he works in Jamaica Queens which was at least an hr and a half bus ride everyday each way. Plus he worked from 12-12 (at least) everyday..so add in traveling time and we almost NEVER saw eachother and then if we had to go to his neighborhood to see his parents or take care of something on the weekend, it would take alllll day and spending 4hrs on the trains on the weekends REALLY got to me. It was REALLY affecting our relationship because we'd have so much more time together if he just had a car, his neighborhood is only a 30min ride and his job is a 20min ride topss..
So I needed to give him a little push, I did it in a really mean way, and I made him pack all of his stuff and leave. I know it sounds mean, but I was seriously so hurt by where our relationship , or lack there of, was going..
Long story short, my older brother's MS acted up a few hours later and I started freaking out and called FH because I didn't want to be at the hospital alone, he took the train here and stayed with me, and moved back in the next day lolz..and that was the end of that 'break-up'...2months later he had a license Don't you love happy endings?? FH absolutely LOVES driving now too so I always tease him that he can thank me for it

Yes one time for about 3 days when we first started dating! it was over him not being able to communicate. I was so annoyed i was like i cant take this. As friends i never realized he had a hard time with it. But as GF i so did! Anyway, 5 yrs later we are better then ever & needless to say he quite obviously has gotten a hell of alot better at the the talking thing! lol lol

Honestly i was always the type that never looked back. When i was done i was done. But with FH i knew he was SOOOOO worth trying & helping him to learn how to be able to communicate. SO THANKFUL I DID!

Nope, i always felt like if it ever came to that we shouldnt have been together... even if the thought came into my head I would doubt our relationship completely

Nope... I broke up with someone once and then got back together with him and it was the biggest mistake everrrr.... since then, once I've broken up with someone that was it!

yes we have... we would have a few 1 or 2 day breakups... and then we had a serious one when we were together for about 3 yrs... we were broken up for like 2 months because i wanted to do some 'exploring' .. so i went out on a couple dates with this 1 guy and during one of them i realized '*** am i doing...' and went running back to FH... good thing he took me back or we wouldnt be here....

ME AND FH MET IN 1997 STARTED DATING IN 98 AND WERE SOLID TIL 2004 THEN I BROKE UP WITH HIM BECAUSE I FELT IT WAS NOT GOING ANYWHERE WE WERE TOGETHER FOR SO LONG AND I THOUGHT WE WERE IN DIFFERENT PLACES. WE BROKE UP FOR CLOSE TO 2 YEARS I DATED OTHER PEOPLE BUT NOBODY COULD MEASURE UP WE ALWAYS STAYED IN CONTACT DURING THE 2 YEARS AND ANYTIME WE SAW EACH OTHER THERE WAS THIS UNDESCRIBEABLE URGE TO BE TOGETHER IT WOULD BREAK MY HEART ALL OVER EVERYTIME I SAW HIM. WELL FINALLY WE BOTH GOT IT TOGETHER AND HOOKED UP ONE NIGHT AND HAVE NEVER LOOKED BACK WE MOVD IN TOGETHER LOL AFTER A FEW MONTHS AND AFTER A YEAR OF BEING BACK TOGETHER HE PROPOSED

nope, we started dating when we were 17, had our problems, but i dont like the term 'take a break' or ' break up'. i always see it as it was needed so we arent meant to be, so we never broke up.
