The Inn at New Hyde Park: January 2008(?)The best wedding I have ever attended! My friend had her big fat Italian wedding and rented out the largest room in this beautiful hall for over 200 guests. The CH room was huge and had 5 international stations, a beautiful ice sculpture and violinist. Food for both CH and dinner was amazing, and they had a very attentive waitstaff.
Floral Terrace: September 2008(?)
I enjoyed this wedding very much. CH and dinner was also excellent, loved the spacious seating and elevated dancefloor; you didn't have to worry about walking into anyone else. Incidentally, both FT and Inn at New Hyde Park are down the street from each other.
Milleridge Inn-
Went to 2 weddings here, the second was in a very large room for one of FH's cousins (the other married at Floral Terrace) FH has been to a lot of weddings here, and we both agree that the food is consistently great.
Vineyard Caterers- September 2011
Lovely venue, but the seating was very tight on the bride's side. FH had to stand up and move on to the dancefloor just so I could get up. CH food was fantastic, but I was a little disappointed with the narrow selection of main course options. Overall lovely setting.

searsc, I am 25 but the first of any of my friends to get married, and I have a tiny, tiny family too! It's weird doing the planning without ever having BEEN to one, but I worked in event planning before.
your 25? your wedding date says 2004 so you got married at 15? lol you need to update that

I went to a wedding at Atlantis back in January 2013...I don't remember the day of the week.I must say, it was really really nice. Cocktail hour was in the aquarium part and reception and dinner was in the banquet facility. Guests stayed on site, and the couple did a tank dive, which was really awesome! Food was good? I don't remember it being bad! I don't know if we had the whole facility to ourselves, but it certainly felt that way! Bathrooms were brand new and beautiful, bartender was awesome, overall great great event!

Love this thread! Looks like it caused a lot of drama before lol. I've been to three weddings in the last year..Thatched Cottage July '13: they're closing now so it doesn't really matter but it was amazing. Gorgeous indoor outdoor cocktail hour (there was something wrong with the AC though because there was a huge ugly fan in the middle of the room). Food was great. Room was WAY too small for the amount if people. They had 225 and it was not big enough. Very hard to maneuver.
Sand Castle December '13: best cocktail hour ever! Food was so good and there was sooo much! Plenty of seating for about 300 guests. The ballroom was beautiful (not my taste with the fake castle things on the walls) gorgeous marble floors and fancy turning dais. Food was great and they offered seconds Of whatever you wanted which everyone took advantage of. Only downside was bathrooms were up a huge marble staircase which was quite slippery, especially after a few drinks and wearing heels lol.
Larkfield July '14: prob the worst wedding I've ever been to, to no fault of the venue. The couple had a lot of issues (she was late, which made cocktail hour short, then they took pics during reception so no dancing music ugh). The outdoor ceremony was gorgeous, although you could hear te traffic on Larkfield Road including a few ambulances. Cocktail hour food was good but we were rushed so I'm not sure lol. Entree was okay, nothing great. The room was beautiful and huge. One weird thing was my friends went to go smoke outside and the woman in the lobby directed them to the patio where the ceremony was.. So they go out there and stumble into another wedding ceremony! How could they not know there was something going on out there and send three tipsy people out there to crash the ceremony?! I also didn't like that the maître d' was barking orders at the bridesmaids as they walked down the aisle like 'you! Next! Go!' Like.. We can all hear you bro, SHH!
Hope ladies find this helpful :)

I just went to Atlantis for one this May and I was not a fan!The cocktail hour barely had food. There was just the cold antipasto station with the rolled meats, cheeses, and grilled veggies. The passed apps were basic such as baby hotdogs, mozz sticks, and potato skins. Then inside the dance floor was far from the tables so unless you were the B&G you couldn't see if anyone was dancing which I felt like kept people from dancing. Then the dinner was buffet (which I'm sure is an option) but when you went up to get a little more since it's small plates it was already gone. Dessert was only a chocolate fountain. I just feel like you didn't get much from them. I'm not sure if this is just the package they went with or if this is the only option Atlantis has.

I attended a wedding at Larkfield in October 2013 - the Bridal attendant was caught by the Mother of the Groom stealing cash from their cards which were in the bridal suite. The cops were called to the wedding and the whole ordeal basically ruined my friends wedding.
The room was very pretty though and food was pretty good. I had my senior prom there back in the day and didnt really love it but it looked MUCH nicer after they re-did it.

That's disgusting!
I just went to a wedding at the New Hyde Park Inn (Last weekend)... I was not impressed. The place is beautiful. Cocktail hour was good, but nothing amazing, and the food during the reception was horrible. This was very sad because I went to their restaurant and the food there is amazing.

Have You Been to a Wedding at? (Updated Today)
Fox Hollow Garden Terrace Room- November 2011- (My MOH’s wedding). Although it was a few years ago, this wedding was the one that first made us say, hey when we get married lets look into this place! The food and service were great and we stayed at the Inn at FH so we didn’t have to drive anywhere. Breakfast was served the next morning and the food was very good there too.Fox Hollow Somerley – November 2012. This was the second wedding we attended at Fox Hollow and the first time we experienced the Somerley, which is our venue. It was beautiful, the fire place was such a great touch and the little lounge area off of the main part of the room is great (we are going to put a Photobooth there). Again, the food and service were wonderful. I remember not being super fond of the coffee during desert, and I got up to use the restroom and when I came back there was a cappuccino in my seat bc the waiter asked my FH if there was anything wrong with the coffee and he mentioned I wasn’t fond of it.
Lands’ End- September 2013. After attending this wedding we were 99% sure we were going to book at Lands’ End. Even after a very trying week (a friend of all of ours, bride included passed away the Sunday before) we had an amazing time. The staff went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time. Food was amazing – my FH couldn’t stop talking about the crab cakes or the “graffiti” cocktail hr section which had mac and cheese and sliders. My filet mignon was delish too for dinner! They had the ceremony on site and it was beautiful out by the water on a nice Sept evening. As the ceremony ended there were waiters there handing us drinks as we walked up into cocktail hr. Also, they have a big firepit outside to sit by. Overall it was a great wedding!
Larkfield – October 2013. As I mentioned earlier, my friends experience on her wedding day was not great. From a guest’s perspective the food was good and the place looked great (I attended a prom there in 2007 and it was a 100x better since then!) I liked that they had the bar open while we were waiting to go to the ceremony area. Once in the ceremony area you could hear the music from the other wedding going on, which took away from the ceremony a little bit. The dance floor was very large and their desert hr was in the cocktail hr room and was very good!

Yes, it was very sad - I felt so bad, but they did make the best of it, and got to enjoy a lot of their wedding. I am truly hoping it will not or has not happened again.
