Have you considered...

having your BM's dresses made? My friend's SIL's sister works for Ralph Lauren as a designer and is starting her own thing on the side and is willing to make BM's dresses. The cost might be a bit high, but I have to investigate that later. I think I love the idea, but I just wanted to get everyone's opinion on it?

Thanks!

Re: Have you considered...

i think it's a waste of time and money...
i am getting my FG and JrBM dresses made just so i can have matching colors and coordinating styles...it's not that expensive as it's a local older woman who makes them...but even so, i think it's wasteful...i just dont have any other choice.

Re: Have you considered...

I looked into it.. but since my bms are paying for there own dress. I found it to be at the min like 80 more then if I bought it in the store ( I showed people the picture I wanted.. but wanted a different style on bottom - the one I picked has a slight mermaid and am not so crazy about it) I could also get the matching shawls made this way.. but in the end it was too expensive.

Re: Have you considered...

I would check out how much it costs before you say yes.. It may turn out that you would get a better deal from a bridal shop. Get all the details first.

Re: Have you considered...

I always thought I would want to have my wedding dress made but looking into that route, the brides that had theirs or their BMs dresses made ran into a lot of problems. A dress thats already been worn down the runway will have enough wear to see the weak spots that can be corrected (be it a strap or skirt)

Also, it would drive me crazy not to be able to see the finished product until the end!
