Have you ever been to a wedding and not seen the bride???
FH, FIL and I went to a wedding last weekend with well over 300 people there. We did NOT see the Bride at all. And I mean at all!!!!!!!!! I have no idea how she looked or what kind of gown she picked. We only happened to see the Groom as we were leaving.
They didn't come to the cocktail hour and they didn't come around to the tables at the reception.
There were soo many people at this wedding I couldn't even see them when the DJ did the introduction, let alone their first dance.
I'm so shocked about this. I cant believe how rude people can be. Yes, I understand over 300 people is a large number but at least walk around a bit.
What are your feelings... Has this ever happened to you?

never had this happen although ive never been to a wedding of that size either... but it does seem strange... lol part of me would wanna take money back out of the envelope considering they didnt even know we were there !

WOW, I can't believe that! Not even once?? So weird!!!
I am going to a wedding this weekend and there will be around 350 guests, so I'll let you know how they handle saying hello to the guests. I can't imagine that the bride won't say hello to everyone!!

that ANNOYS me to death. and it hasn't even happened to me!!!
it happened to a friend of mine and she was adamant about seeing everyone at her wedding because of it. it also happened to my aunt, and neither could believe that the bride and groom didn't come around and say hello. if you have that many guests you need to go to the cocktail hour and just walk around and then just do a quick hello at each table! people don't want to spend the whole party saying hello, but you have to say hi to people when the come to your wedding!!!
i would be so angry if i were you!!!

Wow, that's truly bizarre. I've never been to a wedding that large, so I can't say that's happened. That's a little tacky IMO.

Thats exactly what I want to do! FH gave a lot of money....and its really pissing me off.

thats sooo rude,I actually went to a wedding in july with 310 people and she made sure she came around to every table, took her most of the reception but she did it.

we had 200 people but went around to almost all of the tables... we hit the old people/family first because we knew they'd care more, then tried to hit the family friends/etc, and we never made it to the younger tables because everyone was out on the dance floor and we were hanging with them anyway. it took up more time than i would have liked, but then we hung out with our friends for an add'l 5 hours at our afterparty

i agree. I had about 275 guests and although it took alot to go around to each table, we made sure to do so. It was nice when i heard somebody tell my dad what amazing hosts dh and i were and how they noticed how we were at every single table and talked to every single guest. Then when we werent saying our hello's or doing a specialty dance, speech or whatever, we were on the dancefloor with the guests.
I think its very weird if you dont see the couple. One time i barely saw the couple, just a few mins on the dancefloor and i think it changes the mood. One wedding i went to the bride was partying on the dancefloor all night and it was nice to see. It was dh's co-workers wedding so i didnt know the bride well, but even though i was so happy for her just seeing what a happy bride she was and having so much fun

i dont think its rude at all..its a crazy day and sometimes things are going on that makes it impossible to see everyone, personally i will not be going around to tables. I am the one all in white come to me if you want to say hi etc. its a huge party there to celebrate if we happen not to cross paths its bc you were having fun , thats how i see it (with the excpetion of people who are ederly and cant move around)

Thats ridiculous! I dont care how many people u have there. U invited the peope you want most there & then you dont even greet them or thank them for coming. So tacky!
My friend is having 390 people at her wedding in March. I bet the same thing happens! It makes me happy that im at 250 & keeping it there!

omg! Never ... The wedding I went to over the weekend the bride and groom made like a 5 min appearance at the CH but didn't walk around at the reception .. it wasnt large either about 150 ... i mean everyone saw them they were dancing all night.
I don't want to go to the CH and I want to be seen when we are announced by the DJ but Im def going to every table!

I just think as a host you should try your best to greet every guest. They are coming to YOUR wedding and giving YOU money or a gift.
Even if they cant come around to every table... at the very least grab the mic from the DJ and say thank you.
If they tried to make their rounds I wouldn't be saying this b/c I'm sure its hard.
They literally didn't even walk over to the side of the room we were sitting on.
JMO but as a guest I didnt feel welcome.

I would be a little annoyed at that. I always believe in connecting with your guests a bit when there is a party- big or small. I am making it a priority to go to each table one by one and say hello and thank everyone for coming. I think it's important to acknowledge your guests. I went to FH's cousin's wedding last year and they didn't even really make an attempt to see anyone which I thought was kind of rude.
