Having a hard time..

Making a decision on our honeymoon

FBIL is booking our flights for where ever we want to go (within reason) So since FH and I are going to a wedding in Germany for 8 days at the end of August we figured we would scale down the honeymoon a little--We decided to go to Jamaica because we went there on a cruise and had a blast! I wanted to go to Montego Bay but FH is looking at hotel reviews and said people are complaining about the airport thats so close by, has anyone been here and experienced this?

We originally booked at Secrets wild orchid but we are maybe thinking of switching to Sandals Montego Bay because we can get our own floor of a private villa amongst other things for a little more but we cant deicde!!!


Any thoughts, opinions, ideas???

I really want this to have a honeymoon feel without breaking the bank!

I've never been to Jamaica, but I do know this.. whenever you read hotel reviews people complain! and I find most complaints to be totally laughable!

how close is the airport that its bothering people?? I would think closeness would be a plus.

I've been to Montego Bay and Negril Jamaica, BUT I was there 10 years ago on spring break in Negrill, then 9 years ago on spring break in Montego Bay so I was there in a different way then I'd want to be there now. We did go to Montego Bay in 2009 on our cruise....I always liked Jamaica but the last time we went back on our cruise I didn't like it, I felt suffocated by all the locals trying to sell us things and bother us, it was really annoying, but again we were in the shopping area. Jamaica is beautiful though so if you can find a resort that you LOVE and mostly everything is there on the compound I would do it. I do not remember the airport, again when I stayed there it was a long time ago and I was probably too concerned with how low my red stripe was being i was 19 years old
