I was talking with my gf's about having children at weddings and one friend thinks since it is a family affair children should be welcome. The other thinks kids should stay home and let the adults have the night out. What do you ladies think? Is anyone having kids at their wedding? Or will they be having a strictly adult wedding?

Re: Having Children at your wedding
I am having a few... I have a couple of step siblings coming from out of state and if they don't bring their children, they are going to have a very hard time -- so I invited them - problem solved.

ONLY MY SON AND MY FG. NO OTHER KIDS. ITS A WEDDING RECEPTION, THERE IS NO REASON FOR THEM TO BE THERE. LET THE ADULTS HAVE A GOOD TIME.

We are having our 3 kids and my sister's 2. Noone else's children are being invited. For us, it's a money issue. Practically everyone we know has kids and we can't afford to feed them all!

Re: Having Children at your wedding
It's really a personal choice. For me and FH we do not want ANY children at the wedding. I just can't justify spending all that money on a kid who won't appreciate it. Plus, we don't have a ton of kids in the family so it makes it a much easier decision.

Re: Having Children at your wedding
We are inviting my two nephews and FH's 4 nephews. Luckili my Brother and SIL are both in the wedding and decided they did not want to be running after the kids all day. These are the only kids being invited and my hall charges $25 each which isn't bad.

Re: Having Children at your wedding
There has been no pressure on us to invite kids but we are very close to FH's much younger cousins so it was never really a question. We want to include everyone to be a part of our special day. I think in total we'll have about 15 people under the age of 18 and about 12 of those under the age of 13.

We ARE having kids at our wedding - initially I didn't want to b/c of the cost, but I have 5 year old sister and tons of little cousins and I think they will bring so much joy and energy to the wedding.

Re: Having Children at your wedding
we are having children at the wedding, ONLY family...NO babies, 3 are in the bridal party, 2 are flying in and my cousins wouldnt be able to come without them...and truth is, I want them there, all my cousins are older...a lot older and I grew up with their children ad my cousins... they are important to me... ALL got a hotel room at the INN so that the children can go to bed when they need to...and someone who is older and doesnt want to party all nigth will watch them...I imagine, and if they are fine, not tired, they will stay...

Re: Having Children at your wedding
We had children in our wedding. These children are important parts of our family and we couldn't imagine having it any other way. Now...with that said...if it was 'someone's kid' at the wedding. We wouldn't have wanted that...only our family...Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.

Re: Having Children at your wedding
I'm not having any children, and yes, a few people are disappointed by that decision, but it's our decision (me & FH) and they accept that.
