Having doubts about my dress

Having doubts about my dress

I know some brides go through this phase..and I guess I'm going through it too since it's been a while since I picked out my dress. I'm sure it will look great ..but I feel ike I'm seeing some dresses that are from newer collections or ones that I forgot to try on....

I'm starting to think my dress is a little too 'traditional' Although the back is pretty open. It is a beach wedding so I can't have a big ball gown..nor do I want one...but maybe more slimming like a lazaro mermaid...

Anyhow..thats all

We all go through this...Theres a posting on BHB called 'Dress Doubts'. It will make you feel better reading that many of us go through the same thing.

I think when your dress comes in you will love it again-and you could always alter it into a more mermaid-esque shape. I think that would be easy.

Girl I love my dress, but trust me-sometimes I wish I waited till like right now to buy the dress. When you order so far ahead of time, it only gives you more and more time to second guess and doubt it.

I think there are so many gorgeous gowns that you could never just choose 1.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the confidence boost =) I also think that part of it has to do with my mom wanting me to have something with more beading and crystals (more quincenera-ish)..and of course, even though it's my day, a mother's opinion is always important =)

Don't fret! I think many brides go through this. The dress I chose I've loved for 2 years, but it was the last of 50+ dresses I tried on so I'm really confident. With that said, I still see pretty dresses on maniquins that I'd like to try on, but don't let myself so I don't create any doubts. I think it's perfectly normal since it's the most important gown you'll ever wear. I'm sure it'll feel like the perfect one on the day of!

Re: Having doubts about my dress

I go back and forth with my dress. Sometimes I am completely happy with my choice (there are things I love about it). But it hasn't come it yet and I am just so anxious that it will not look the same as when I tried it on. I tried on a size ten (i'm a 2) and one LI wedding bride told me a story ab out how the woman forgot to put a clip a part of the dress and when her size came in she realized it was a mermaid cut. I have fears like that. I'm sure that it will be fine when it comes in. And the advice i got when i first asked about this was....STOP LOOKING AT OTHER DRESSES!!!
