Hawaii

We are going to look this weekend for pricing for our HM. Can anyone suggest which islands to go to in Hawaii? I heard from a few ppl Maui and Kaui. We want some place to relax and another place to go out, and do things. I want to have an idea before we go.

We are thinking of going for 10-14 days.

TIA!!

Re: Hawaii

I am going for 10 nights to Maui (4 nights), Big Island (4 nights) and Oahu (2 nights).
I have been booking things in Maui -there seems to be a ton to do there...luau, road to hana, sunrise bike ride...

But a lot of brides are booking lanai instead of big island. From what I hear, that is really beautiful, and the least amount of activity.

We are doing two weeks. One week will be in Kauai for the relaxation and then well go to Oahu for the tourist and sight seeing aspect.

As of tonight we chose to do Kauai first for three nights, then Oahu for 5 nights and Maui for six nights.

We are going to Oahu & Maui. A friend of ours just came back from Kuai and said it is absolutely dead after 9pm.... just a warning...

We went to Maui and Kauaii. I think that would be perfect for what you want. We did 13 nights. There is info in my review, about my awesome travel agent at Micris Travel in Commack.

Ditto for us........I cannot wait to start off our hm in Kauai, I hear it is very romantic and relaxing. We are staying at the Marriott there. When we get to Oahu, we are staying at the JW Marriott. They are both pretty nice properties.

Re: Hawaii

Maui & Kauai are perfect for what you want. Kauai is a quiet, relaxing island. Maui has a nightlife. IMO, Kauai is much more beautiful and DH and I liked it better. If we could re-do the trip, we would have spent more time there and less on Maui.

We did 4 nights Kauai at the Grand Hyatt (HIGHLY recommend!!!!) and 5 nights at the Hyatt Regency in Maui (it was alright -- not nearly as nice as the Kauai one, though.)

A lot of people do three islands and I'm so happy I did two. The inter-island flights kills a good portion of your day. But on the flip side, each island feels like a completely separate trip (or it did to me.) I was sad to leave Kauai because I felt like I was going home...but I wasn't! And that made me happy.

We are thinking of Hawaii also. Glad to hear about the Hyatt Hotels. Does anyone know of any other hotels in Hawaii that they would reccomend?

We just booked our honeymoon. We are going to Oahu for 3 nights and Maui for 5 nights. Our travel agent suggested the Sheraton on both islands. I have also heard great things from other people about them. My travel agent is AWESOME!!! FM me if you want her info.

Re: Hawaii

I went to Ohau in April and stayed at the Outrigger Reef on the Beach. I really loved the hotel, and they had so many restaurants all along the beach strip. If you have a chance def take a trip to the North shore and drive up the east coast. There are many spots to pull over and take some amazing pictures. Oh and you should really climb to the top of Diamond Head (thats where we got engaged). Don't forget to have $2 cause you can get a certificate at the top!!!!!

I heard Maui and Kuaii were the best honeymoon islands. I've also heard great things about the Four Seasons resort on Big Island.

Most people say Oahu is very touristy but I think there is a lot to do there. I think it totally depends on what kind of people you and your FH are.

If it was me, I'd do Oahu, Maui, and Big Island.

Re: Hawaii

we did maui, oahu and kuaui
maui was my favorite--i felt it had the best of everything.......nightlife, stuff to do during the day, and romance
oahu was fun too--but i don't think you need too many days there--just enough to see diamond head and pearl harbor
kuaui was very pretty however there was nothing to do at night! we toured a lot during the day and relaxed and the only thing we did at night was go to dinner..............if i went back i would do maui again and then the big island plus one of the smaller islands............i would not go back to kuaui as pretty as it was--it was too dead for me! if you have 2 weeks, you can definitely do 3 islands no problem---the interisland flights are short ( under 1/2 hour each)and if you time them right--they don't waste much of your day...........we would do something in the morning have lunch take a flight and be able to have dinner on our next island.......good luck in your planning!

Re: Hawaii

I just returned from all of these places and have to say that this is how I would do it if I were to have done it all over again. Though I think I would have started at the Big Island, then went to Maui and then to Oahu...Maui was my favorite overall
