Hawaii vacation - not for honeymoon
Has anyone gone to Hawaii just for vacation, not a honeymoon? I want to go for our 1st anniversary in August, but don't want to go exceptionally crazy with money. Does anyone have any suggestions of places to stay, go, travel agencies or packages? Thanks. I'm looking to spend about $1500 - $2000 a person for about 10 days.

Re: Hawaii vacation - not for honeymoon
My FH and I went there about 2 years ago for a 10 day vacation.I don't really know much about packages or travel agents and as for cost, we were able to use frequent flyer miles and AMEX points. Sorry!
We went to Oahu for 2 days. I wouldn't recommend staying longer than that. Waikiki Beach isn't all that, but Pearl Harbor is a must!
And we visited Hawaii (The Big Island). That was awesome with lots of things to do: deep sea fishing, horseback riding in the valley, helicopter ride over volcanoes.
Those activities aren't cheap though. I believe deep sea fishing was $500-$600 for half the day, but we had the whole boat to ourselves, horseback riding was about $300-400 and the helicopter was about $400.
We booked on the spot, so I don't know if a package or agent could offer you a better rate on those activities.

DH and I went before we got married...we spent maybe a little over $1000 each for flight and hotel...but we went with a whole group of friends that needed the price to be reasonable...but there were nicer hotels to stay at...a little more $$$check out www.deltavacations.com

Thanks... spending $1000 would be perfect. We didn't go for our honeymoon and I feel like if we don't go before we have kids or a house we'll never get there!Welcome New Vendors
