Hawaiian honeymoon
Anyone else planning on going to Hawaii for their honeymoon? Just met with the travel agent yesterday and now I'm more confused than ever! We want to go to Maui for 5 days and then to another island or 2 for the remaining 7 days-- where should we go?? Kaui is a bit quiet-oahu might be too crazy, and the big island has the volcano which I would like to see but I don't know if theres nice beaches there/much to do besides the volcano and national park. Please share your Hawaii itinerary and why you picked that island!
Thanks : )

Hawaiian honeymoon
We aren't going for our honeymoon nut we are going this July for Fh best friends wedding. The wedding is on Maui so we will be there for 3 nights, then we will go to the ing island for 2 nights because we want to see the volcanoes, then Oahu for 2 nights because there is no way I can go to Hawaii and not go to the Arizona memorial.

Re: Hawaiian honeymoon
We are staying in Oahu for 3 full days and Maui for 7 full days. I am not counting travel days.In Oahu we are seeing the Arizona Memorial, renting a car and doing a volcano tour.
In Maui we are snorkeling, luau, dinner sunset cruise, Road to Hana, bike ride on the Haleakala Sunrise.
We are debating whether to rent a car for our entire stay in Maui.

That is so cool. We are leaving Monday morning, 10am flight on Hawaiian airlines. Staying at Outrigger on the beach. Where are you staying in Oahu? When is your flight?

Re: Hawaiian honeymoon
I think Maui is the happy medium between all the islands. Oahu was my least favorite. Too crowded, beaches were super crowded, it just didn't have an intimate feel to me. Kauai was definently more rural than the others. Big Island we actually enjoyed. Mauna Kea was awesome as were the hiking trips and all the different beaches. A lot of hotels are not directly on the beach because of the rocks, and the water in certain areas is a little rougher than in Kauai and Maui.If you want more to do, do Big Island. If u want to relax and be a little more low key, do Kauai. I would say avoid Oahu and do a day trip to Pearl Harbor if you're set on going.
HTH!

Hawaiian honeymoon
I just got back from a week in maui for our honeymoon. We spent 7 days there. We only did maui since we were given a week of my parents timeshare. Maui was absolutely amazing.. I have been to Oahu and the big island previously, and I think maui is the best spot out of the 3. If you do Oahu or the big island, you only need a day or 2. I've never been to Kauai but heard great things. We did a snorkel tour to molokini and lanaii on the honeymoon- absolutely amazing, there are also full day trips to lanaii from maui if you want to see more of the island
