*head-wall* Ceremony HELPPP!!!

Ok we are ready to do Save the Dates, made the wedding website, booked the hotels, bought the dress... no ceremony yet! 7 months to go. Getting married at Chateau Le Mer (refuse to have ceremony on property for various reasons so don't bother with that idea) WHERE do we get married? We are non religious but both brought up catholic. He was married before and divorced so can't get married in a catholic church anyway. I don't want a religious ceremony BUT love pretty churches so where can we go? We were told by one place if you aren't a parishoner there, they won't marry you. I'm getting frazzled. I'm hoping to go look around Long Island on Friday but need direction. Any ideas?

the part about being a parishoner isn't true.. i am getting married at the church my FH is a parishioner of because my parents, his parents, and all of our aunts and uncles got married there... they didn't give me a problem at all about it. All I had to do was get my baptismal and confirmation certificates from my church and bring them to his

are you open to having an outdoor ceremony? If so, what about old westbury gardens, planting fields arboretum, or a place like that? then you can hire an officiant for the ceremony... otherwise, you would have to look around for non-denominational chapels or something like that

In a perfect world, an outdoor wedding would be lovely... in reality and the fact that I just can't worry about anymore.. I need indoor. I need that guarantee and not worry about the weather. So any non- denominational chapels anyone knows of? Are those my only options for indoor non- reception hall ceremony? I'm trying to figure out what else there could be that I'm missing without spending too much.

My aunt who was married and divorced, remarried in St Mark's Church in East Islip.. Neither her or her husband were parishioners there when they got married. Not sure if any of this had changed as they got married about ten years ago now but it's worth a look into!
