Heading to Atlantic City- need advice on the drive there

Original post by GettinHutched

My bachelorette party is coming!! I have a friend that lives in Astoria, Queens and another that lives in Midtown East (Hi Diane! ). I'm trying to come up with a good midpoint to meet them. Maybe somewhere off the LIRR? I want to avoid having them come out to LI and avoid my sisters having to drive in the city.

Now, what I personally would do is have my two friends meet up in Astoria and we pick them up there and take the Triboro bridge....but that's too far north for Atlantic City. This is going out of the way since mapquest says to take the Verrazzano. Which means...the lovely Belt Parkway.

Is there an LIRR station or any easy to get to subway station somewhere off the Belt Parkway that we can meet my friends?

TIA!! I would be SO grateful if you could help out!!!

Well my friend lives off the Hoyt Ave exit- the last exit before Triboro. So I'm guessing we'll just get on the BQE heading towards Brooklyn once we pick them up?

you are so helpful! Thanks!

yeah that would be good too...but just in case there is traffic, if you're on the grand central that also takes you to HOYT, either way would work, guess listen to the radio before you leave and see which would be the best way to take, BQE can be a pain at times with traffic.

Good luck and have an amazing time

oh I know- I DESPISE the BQE. When I was coming back from jenafee's wedding in Brooklyn, the GPS sent me down there and it took me TWO HOURS to get back to Massapequa!!

Thanks again!!!

yeah see thats my only problem with the belt pkwy and bqe, Fh has to drive to LI sunday mornings for softball then come back home and then drive BACK to LI for softball at night LOL, tonight the other team had to forfeit bc of a wedding lol. But we try to avoid it, you can seriously get stuck in ALOT of traffic.

The southern state is ok and like i said you can always jump on the cross island to the grand central, its usually ok and youre not on the cross island for long just a few exits even if there is traffic. If you are able to the wantaugh is pretty good and like i said that takes you straight to the grand central and there is a hoyt ave exit on the grand central. Usually FH and i keep checking the signs on the highway, we see signs that there is alot of traffic we jump on something else.

No problem
