Bridal Reflections in Carle Place with my mom and godmother! Going to try on some Eve of Milady and Amalia Carrera dresses while they are still on sale! But I have a feeling today won't be 'the day' - I still want to try on some Jasmine dresses too... and BR doesn't carry that line.

Have fun!!! Just a bit of advice with BR -- tell them the least expensive designer you want to try on first, then the more expensive after you've already tried those on.
I wanted to try on EOM, AC and Lazaro -- since Lazaro was less expensive the lady didn't bring me any out even after I asked her over and over, she said I wouldn't like them ughhhh!!!!

Ok - so I feel in love with a dress! But not with a price :( I feel so torn too, because my mom said she didn't want to spend over 2K, but now that I came out of the dressing room crying, because I loved the dress so much, she says she'll pay over twice what she wanted for a dress! We went to another salon after that, and I found a dress that I liked for less than half the price. She says she wants me to get the more expensive dress because it looks nicer and she knows I don't love it like I love the first one. I am so torn!

if your mom puts in what she originally wanted for your dress would you be able to cover the rest of the costs?
My mom gave me a budget also but I ended up going over it and feeling bad, but she wanted me to have the gown I loved anyway so she made me order the more $$$ one. It's really up to you if you want to spend that much more on your gown.

I don't. In fact, I feel like I am always getting the nicest things for the wedding, but I don't think I can afford everything in the long run - yes I have the money for it, but FH has a small debt we still need to pay back, and we were hoping to buy a house right before the wedding. I am taking on three jobs now, and completely running myself ragged... if I did have the money I still don't know if it is worth it to me to spend so much for something I will only wear once... imo

you may be able to shop around more and ask all diff stores how much they want for the gown....
eta: not sure if it wuld be much of a diff from 1 store to the next but it doesnt hurt to try!
Orrrrr.... you may be able to find a similar gown in style that is made by a less expensive designer!
