Headpieces...what is the average cost?? with poll

Headpieces...what is the average cost?? with poll

So today was my first day shopping for a headpiece
I found 2 that i like, and was shocked by the price

She claims they are handmade by her, etc.
She can also make the veil
She would make the headpiece and the veil attached that snaps onto the headpiece so i would only have 1 comb not 2. so my hair doesnt get messed up.
And i can have the option of taking off the cathedral veil and just keeping the shorter one on. or taking them both off, they would snap right off.

The price for the veil was 250 and the price for the headpiece is 350.

Does this seem like alot?

the veil is a great price and average price for headpiece

it depends where you get it!

I just picked up my veil and bought my headpiece today and they were much less than that. (I went to Barrons)

However, I'm pretty sure my headpiece was not hand made. My veil on the other hand, was custom made for me

I paid a lot more my headpiece. That seems like a good price to me

ETA: I didn't get my veil yet

my veil was a little under $200 and i'm just wearing little hairpins. i didn't want a tiara/headband...i do think they're over priced, JMO

how ornate is your veil? Mine is appx fingertip with a blusher, and a rolled edge (if that's what it's called? it has like round ribbon trim on the end) and was made to match a swatch of my dress. I saw the same veil in a bridal shop for ~ $300. I had mine made for me for $65, no tax.

I'm sure it's a little more if you want beading, crystals, cathedral length, etc. I just wanted something simple so to me it wasn't worth paying 5x as much at a bridal shop.

my veil was 300... It has a lot of beading and its being custom made at Barrons in Tricounty flea market!

Its not a tiara or headband at all

Its on a haircomb and will go on the back of my head, the only way to see it is looking at me from the back

My veil is plain, cathedral with blusher
She will match it to my gown.

Veils with work on them just didnt look right with my gown.
And an 07 bride who had a similar dress as me, I am having a veil just like hers.

well if you're having a plain veil, then $250 is a lot, but then again it's cathedral. I think you can get it for less
yea the haircomb probably has expensive crystals on it. It just depends if that's what you want, if you don't care then you can find a nice one somewhere else too

Maybe I'm confused..the hairpiece is just a comb? This is mine and I paid $50

The veil seems right that how much I paid for mine but the hairpiece seems really where did you go?

I've seen stuff for more than that. Why not try finding a similar comb on ebay?

Check out Veil Shop.com - great prices for simple veils and you can customize to glam it up. I got a gorgeous flexible headpiece there too. The head piece was $37.00. A simple, no-frill two layer veil 22'/24' with a fine white edge is $47.00. You can customize to add pearls, crystals, rhinestones, etc. You can choose any length you want, up to three layers, etc. It's really a great site.
