Healthy Eating breakfast Question

Healthy Eating breakfast Question

I have been doing low carb and I havent really seen any weight loss on myself. I was thinking about trying to eat normally, just healthy. What are some ideas for Breakfast?

Where I work, there is a full service cafeteria, where I can get eggs and toast and stuff....but I am so sick of eggs and egg whites. What do you recommend for breakfast that is filling?

Thanks,
Scott

oatmeal with blueberries, and 5 eggwhites. You NEED protein in the morning AND at every meal!!!!! At least 1 gram per pound of bodyweight each day.

I eat a similar breakfast to Snowboard girl. Lots of protein, good carbs and I usually add a little fat. I have an english muffin with natural PB, fruit and usually a yogurt....since I started eating more healthy before my wedding, ive lost over 30 pounds. Restricting does nothing, you have to feed your body to burn more.

eating healthy is a much better way to go than atkins.

I usually eat Kasho go lean cereal and some fruit. It is not a sweet cereal but I don't like sweet ones anyway. It is high in fiber and has good protein.

Other than that sometimes I'll have a banana with natural peanut butter on it. Very yummy and good for you too !!!

Not at all. I eat another meal two-three hours after that. I work out heavy, so I need to eat 5 meals per day.

My breakfast is only 200 calories, with 17 grams of protein. Hmm...I need to add more protein.

Perhaps I need a bigger breakfast...I never feel satisfied after breakfast. A few hours later I'm hungry.

You should eat every 2-3 hours. So go for it! But eat healthy.

Im very into eating right and trying to eat often. Can you give me some suggestions of what smaller 'meals' i can have every 2-3 hrs? THANKS

Re: Healthy Eating breakfast Question

its great to have lots of little meals... gets the metabolism going and keeps you full... the best snacks should have a mix of protein, carbs and fat. one my favorite snacks is an apple with peanut butter, or cottage cheese and some fruit mixed in, fruit and cheese is always good, maybe some carrots and hummus, a yogurt, cup of oatmeaml with raisins and lowfat milk, small bowl of high fiber cereal with lowfat milk and a banana or strawberries.... lots of choices :)

Re: Healthy Eating breakfast Question

I have been eating 25 grams of protein per meal. I eat about 5 meals per day (I eat 125 grams of protein per day because I weigh 125 lbs. and I weight train on a regular bassis and want to gain muscle and loose fat).

I eat carbs with every meal, but I stick to veggies, or other water bassed carbs all day, but more starchy whole grain carbs before and after my workouts.

Examples of meals.

6 egg whites
1 cup oatmeal with blueberries

Grilled chicken
1 cup of green vegetables, steamed, with little olive oil.

1 can of tuna with mustard, and very little mayo for taste.
Stone ground whole wheat bread.

Protein drink
fruit

peanut butter

nuts

Fat free greek yogurt
low glycemic fruit

cottage cheese
low glycemic fruit

Grilled salmon and a sweat potato with mustard.

I try not to mix fats with starchy carbs.
I only eat high glycemic (sugars) after my workouts. And limit my calories to 1500 per day (average).

Of course, I try to eat this way as much as possible. Sometimes it is very hard to plan and find the foods near my office.

Hope this helps!
