Heart Broken

Heart Broken

Hey Ladies,

I just need to get this off my chest. FH & I have been actively house hunting for over a year now and we have just lost our 3rd house. I just don't know how much more of this I can take!!!!!
All I want is to have my own space to begin and raise my family. Our apt is so small you can hardly breath. I am just so let down, so tired....all I feel like doing is curling in a ball & crying. I literally can not handle the thought of going back to that apt and living w/FIL's as a married woman. It honestly sends me into a panic! I have always been independent and moved into the apt to be w/FH and so we could save $$$$. Well almost 4 yrs later and we are still there. I am starting to feel as if we aren't 'meant' to find a house. I just dont know what to do. The sick thing of it all is that we can afford one.

I dont know what to do.

Hang in there Marisa. We went into contract on TWO other houses before ending up in the one we're at. I promise, all the searching is worth it in the end.

Do you have an agent? That can really make a huge difference! Negotiations are much easier that way and you'll probably be exposed to more houses. FH and I looked for almost 6 months at 100 (literally...) houses. Our friends bought the 3rd house they looked at in the first month they looked. It'll work out. FM me if you want to talk about houses and agents.

Awww.. you will find one, I promise. And when u do, that's what's meant to be. You don't want to settle either. This is huge and takes time. I'm sorry its taking so long for u but I think that's what's meant to be.
cheer up

Aww, chica. My mom always tells me that things happen for a reason, so I firmly believe that there are reasons, however big or small, why those houses didn't work out for you guys. Maybe it was something with the houses themselves; maybe it was that it'd be too much to deal with in the upcoming months (wedding/honeymoon/settling into a new house).

It'll happen for you guys. The best things come to those who wait!

FM me if you need to chat.

awww, i know how you feel! I was in the same situation. I moved in with FH (had apartment above his parents) and even though the FIL's were great, I just wanted OUR place. It wasn't the best neighborhood either and I hated feeling like I couldn't go anywhere by myself (I'm really independent too). I was there for 3 years and I felt like we'd never leave.

We started looking for a house May 09 and finally closed in November. It is a long road but don't get discouraged, it'll happen!!

Are you losing out to other bidders? We ended up in a bidding war and paid over the asking price. We were able to negotiate some stuff after the inspection though.

Awww Marisa.. . . .this is why we are waiting to look at houses until after the wedding, I did not want this added stress.

Ladies,

Thanks so much for all of your kind words, I REALLY appreciate it. We are going to get 'back in the saddle' this weekend w/a few open houses. I think I will feel better if we commit to a back up plan (i.e. an apartment to move into).

Thanks again ladies!!!!

I'm so sorry hun!

FH and I have an extremely small apartment too. We just don't have the money for a house and the wedding right now. Sadly, we will have to just stick it out in this apartment with our 1970's wallpaper for another year or two. FH and I just try to remember that we have each other.

I truly hope everything works out for you. I know it's not easy.

Re: Heart Broken

awww marisa... we lost 2 other houses before we ended up getting the one we in now..(and the one I was most heartbroken over i pass everyday cause its around the corner). i was devastated over it and now even though that the yard was awesome and it was already dormered, everything else was the same as the house we have BUT it did not need any work, whereas the house with the bigger yard and dormer need new kitchen, baths, etc.

i didn't believe it until we found our home, but hang in there something wonderful is coming and then you will know there was a reason the others did not work out. honestly, the home buying process stinks, but once you FINALLY have your home, it will be well worth it!

xoxo
