So now that I finally bought my dress I'm wondering what to do about shoes. I'm a fairly tall girl (5'6) so I don't need heels for height but I think I'd like to wear them, at least initially. I'm concerned that if I get the dress hemmed to the right length while wearing heels the dress will drag and look bad in pics if I switch to slippers at the reception. What are your thoughts... what are you ladies doing?

I'm 5'10 so I definately wore flats. Someone here mentioned that your dress falls as the day progresses. This is true. In the beginning of the day I didn't trip over my dress once. By the end of the night, I had almost slipped several times on one of the underlayers of my dress. So, if you're planning on changing from heels to flats, be prepared.

Flats for me, FH is 5'8, I am 5'10!
If I could, I would totally wear heels because I love high heels. You could probably wear heels for the ceremony and then have them alter the dress so that when you bustle it, you can wear flats? I don't know if you can do that, totally just a guess, LOL.

I am about 5'9 1/2 so I will probably only wear an inch heel or so..FH is 6'1ish and since I will have pretty high hair (pics in the album!) I don't want ot be taller than him!

My heels are about 3', so I bought platform flip flops from totes/isotoner's websites. They are so cute and look very 'bridal'. That way, the flip flops won't be too far off from the height of the shoes.

I am about 5'4' and I am wearing heels at first. I was thinking of getting Flip-Flops but maybe the ones with a little wedge so I keep the height w/the dress.

I will be wearing some type of flats-- prob ballet flats. Did not want to have to order extra length for the dress...plus FH is only a couple inches taller than I am.

I'm around 5'6' and I plan on wearing around 2 to 2.5 inch heels. I can't imagine not wearing heels for such an occasion!
If my feet get tired maybe I'll get one of those wedge heel white slippers from VSecret

im 5'2'', so its gonna be heels for me! and i hope all night, cuz i dont want my dress dragging, i know someone who took her shoes off and everyone kept stepping on her dress and parts of it ripped

In fact I just bought satin white slippers if needed. And if I don't use them at all, they were only $7.50 and can be worn around the house.

I am a short girl 4'11. I got 4 inch heels, I wore them for my ceremony and to take pictures that was it. I went bare foot there after. I was having such a great time, I didn't really care. And besides after pictures who cares if your dress is dragging. I say get heels for the start of the day and than bring flats.

sadly, flats (tho i'd love to wear some of the sexy heels the other brides are picking out) bc i'm about 1/2 inch taller than FH. HE'LL be wearing heels
