yea- we just the one- fh's aunt who is suing us

you would think that thats grounds for being uninvited to the wedding- but apparently not

ugh.......do people really believe that just because you sue someone doesnt mean you can't be friends?

i dont- I'm italian & we hold grudges- you know 'when you go against the family' but my fh is like its my aunt... i am pretty sure i will win this one in the end though

wait...you're being sued by an aunt? W T F for????

my fh was in an accident last year- a drunk driver hit his car & his aunt was in the backseat- and instead of just suing the drunk driver directly- her lawyer talked her into suing my fh & the drunk guy. my fmil hates her now (her sister) so I keep trying to explain to my fh even if we invite her where the hellll are we going to seat her

OMG i can't believe that... i swear no one in my family would do that. curious... you said you're italian - is the aunt?

its his aunt & never say never.

FILs have people coming that I don't know, but FH does. Whether they come or not I don't know. They're big into, we were invited to so and so's son's wedding or daughter's wedding so we have to invite them. I just bite my lip for the moment.

I have about 5 from my side that I'd love to not invite, but can't because it's like someelse was told 'it's only proper'.

Probably about 30-40 for me! Family in Nebraska that I really don't know very well, and they are farmers! They would probably be like the movie with the hillbillies in NYC! Good people though. I just know they won't come.

Re: heinous invitation question!

um, yes and no. the people i'm questionable about haven't been invited yet, so i just might not sent anything when the time comes, and even then it's not because i don't like them it's because i hardly ever talk to them and would rather spend my day with close friends and family. unfortunately these people are tied into the wedding/relationship in one way or another (ie one made my engagement ring) and i can't not invite them if we keep talking. i'm hoping we grow apart. is that bad?

other than that, i'm a little worried about one or two people i think might be invited as the '+ guest,' but i have no control over that...

6 kids, oh lord sweet jesus help me............it isn't a picnic in the park!

yeah i definitely have a few that we're inviting that don't really 'need' to be there, but b/c of the laws of someone higher then myself, they are invited

Paul has this friend that completely blew off our e party to go out with a girl and then tried to blame us and say he never got the invite! My friend spoke to him, twice!

I woulda kicked him to the curb BUT NO! He is invited!

ETA: he could have brought the chick, everyone was aloowed a date!

lol

free date!

How many people are invited to your wedding, by you or other family members, would you rather not share your special day with?

I, specifically have about '10' I secretely hope decline our invite............

honestly.... as of now, none.

i am being VERY picky about who is at my wedding. I want it small, I want everyone who is there to either be family or good friends. so... none.

You are so blessed then.

You're day will; be one of utter joy and you won't be mumbling under your breath!

we're not inviting anyone i dislike. my parents are paying so we have a much bigger guestlist than we would if FH and I were (lots of family friends, really extended family, etc) but nobody that I'm hoping will decline.

I guess the closest will be a few law school friends who I sent STDs but we aren't as close anymore. I'd be happy if they came, but if I hadn't sent them STDs I wouldn't be inviting them at this point. (They are all OOT so I'm pretty sure they wont come)

Sometimes a wedding is the perfect event to rekindle a friendship! I hope they make it!

My fh and I have been together for 4 years, we have known each other almost 5. He still has friends I have never met that I will meet first time at our reception.

It's so weird. I live in Northern NJ and he lives in queens. He has gym buddies that are his friends and he goes out with regularly but I have never met them...........
