Hello!
Hi ladies! I am planning my wedding to be Fall of 2015. We just started looking at venues, but I am realizing that I don't really know how/what to negotiate. I have read that the venue is the most negotiable... but just how much should I ask for? I went to Fox Hollow last week, and I REALLY like the Somerley room, but the prices that I was quoted were MUCH higher than I have heard others mention. Can anyone give me an idea of what you booked it for, if you have? Just so I have an idea of what I can hopefully expect for an October/November wedding. ALL tips and advice on negotiating venue prices are MUCH appreciated! I feel so clueless! Thanks!!

Hello!
I have october/nov quotes for the somerley if your interested in seeing what I was quoted. For FH they may not come down on price but try to get them to throw in other things. Say something like I really love this room, its a lot more than we were budgeting - is there anything you can throw in (extra CH station, etc) to compensate?

Hello!
Fox hollow would not negotiate with us, but we felt they were worth it. They did add on a few extras to make us feel more comfortable with the higher minimum than we wanted. We are in the garden terrace and I think it's about a $25pp difference to be in the main house instead of somerley. I wouldn't even let them show it to us after they said that because I didn't want to fall in love and not be able to afford it lol.

Hello!
If you're interested in Fox Hollow I'd get an appointment ASAP. We wanted a date in October (Not in Somerley..too expensive) and we got pushed to Nov. 14th. In a matter of the 10 days between our appointments, 3 options for Fall 2015 (Labor Day, Columbus Day Sunday, and Halloween) were gone.I don't mean to scare you, but if you're interested, get over there! (and then join our lovely group on fb, because you're going to fall in love like the rest of us and want to discuss napkin options :p )

Hello!
I did have my appointment at FH last week, and they really don't have many dates for Fall 2015 lol... I think the first dates available weren't until October unless I wanted a Thursday evening (which I am considering because of price). I really like them, but the price for the somerley was really high for a weekend, and the winter garden pavilion just felt small to me for 150 guests.Any suggestions on other venues? I've been to a few places so far, and unfortunately nothing has jumped out at me like FH. I am going to the expo at Chateau Briand tomorrow night to check it out, and have a few other appointments through next week. I had no idea finding a venue would be so stressful! The upside is I am SUPER flexible with my date, I just want to find the perfect place for the best price. HOPEFULLY we'll have a date by next week!
Lol how do I find the FB group?
Jsabbatino I would love to see your quotes! Thanks!

Hello!
I don't have quotes for Fox Hollow but when it comes to negotiating you should definitely try. Most places won't come down much on price but I was able to get the minimum number of people we had to guarantee down. This helped us a lot because we wanted to keep it as small as possible. Also we are having our ceremony at our venue and I negotiated the ceremony price. Good Luck!

Re: Hello!
Thanks ladies! I was able to get FH to come down on my minimum number for a Thursday evening in the Somerley... I am going to call later to see if they can throw in any extras if I book!

Re: Hello!
I just looked at the Somerley room at the Fox Hollow and loved it! We went there in hopes they would be more around our budget than the other venues we liked. He did beat the price we got from Lands End by suggesting a date in late March of 2016, a Friday evening. He gave us $130 pp before tax. Can anyone send me their price quotes for fall of 2015 or winter and spring of 2016! I would really appreciate it! This might be the place we go with if I can get them down on the price just a little bit! Thanks!!!
