My name is Chrissy & im a little new to both the site & wedding planning-- I may be planning a little early but I truly want to be prepared for my big day!!!
I want to know about how much my wedding will run us as well as a little help with finding a hall... I truly had my heart set on Oheka Castle, however my father I believe will only give 50k so as I have estimated-- 20k site fee & 250$ per head will already have me way above and beyond the 50k just for the hall-- I have no problem spending more then 50k on the wedding-- I am almost positive it will be over 70k however I am now looking for a different hall-- I really do not want another wedding to take place during mine-- I do however like the was Leonards looks & the food and rooms are just beautiful-- I have not yet priced it-- but we are looking to have less then 200 people. Does anyone know another hall that resembles either Oheka or Leonards on Long Island---
Thank you soo muchh--
Chrissy

Welcome and Congratulations!!!! You may want to try Lessings - I've looked on their site and all of their places look beautiful. I do not know about one wedding at a time though. Do a search through the boards though. I'm sure that will be helpful. Good Luck!!!

Congrats!! If you are looking for a place that has one wedding at a time if you want check out The Rivera and Floral Terrace. Also try Jericho Terrace they seem to reassemble Leonards a little.. This may help too Long Island reception Halls
Good luck!

Re: hello everyone-- new to the site-- help!
thank you so much for the help-- I think I like sand castle as well-- all of the other choices are not really what im looking for-- I dont want something that either looks like a house, or school or a building. I obviously love the way Oheka looks-- who doesnt... and I think Leonards is beautiful as well-- the Sand Castle is growning on me -- but their photo gallery isnt the best-- did anyone have their wedding there& have pictures? I really want to take pictures outside of the hall-- so no hotel type reception, any more ideas everyone?
thank you all sooo much!

Leonards is actually inexpensive but thats b/c they can have like 7 weddings goin on at once... They really have nowhere to take pics
Sandcastle also has no place for pics...

Hi Chrissy. Congrats and welcome!!!! I too was in love with Oheka- even with a giant budget- it's still ridiculous! But, check out Lessings Bourne Mansion. I loved it because it kind of looks like Oheka in the mail ballroom. Good luck!

I looked at the bourne mansion and I really didn't like it-- again I think that too looks like a house-- I am still the most intrigued by Leonards-- any other opinions? i looked at glen cove mansion, flowerfields, sand castle, floral terrace and so many others that i dont remember-- there was one in staten island that i forgot the name but i didnt like either also I dont like any of the lessings halls either -- sorry for being a little nasty about what I want-- i am more or less looking in long island-
thank you so much everyone--

Re: hello everyone-- new to the site-- help!
for one wedding at a time, try the North Ritz Club, or maybe the Vanderbilt Mansion through Lessings. The reception hall guide will help you find a one wedding at a time venue, as will going herehere . It will show you prices and average number of weddings per hall

Re: hello everyone-- new to the site-- help!
Chateau Briand can have up to 3 events at a time, I went there when I was checking out halls as well.
You may want to check places like east wind out, they have multiple weddings, but they are spread out on the hotel grounds so you never run into the other girls
