Hello! I am new to the board (engaged 3 weeks ago)
I have had this dream wedding idea for about 3 years now...I think you all can help me out...
I want to have my ceremony and cocktail hour outside and have my reception under a tent....now the only problem is, I see gorgeous places, but they wont accomodate a reception in a tent (you have to use their ballroom).
So, my question is...are there any venues on LI that you know of that will accomodate me?
Thank you! More questions to follow~

Welcome and Congratulations! The Vanderbilt in Centerport and The Nassau County Museum of art both do tented weddings. How much are you looking to spend though? Per person? I knoww Vanderbilt has a site fee of $7000 without even paying for one person but it is gorgeous there.

Re: Hello! Im a Newbie here!!
I have a budget of $220 p/p maximum.
I am looking at the Bourne Mansion in Oakdale...but not sure if they allow a tented reception area. What is the National Museum of Art like? Tacky...elegant...cute...do you have any idea about prices at Art Museum?
TIA!!!!!!!!

The Nassau County Museum of Art is an old mansion that was turned into a museum. The grounds are gorgeous. Have you tried look at the Glen Cove Mansion. They have gorgeous grounds too. Museum web page (Click on Special Occasions)

Welcome. You are going to love it here. It has great people who are all willing to help you out. You should check out the Coral house I think they have outdoor weddings.

Congratulations and welcome!!!! How many people? There is Gurney's in Montauk, the outside wedding would be AMAZING but I didn't book it because I was too afraid of rain and the inside was dated, but supposedly they have been doing renovations. Plus it's a hotel so thats good. I am getting married at the Old Field Club and it's all indoor/outdoor but it's beautiful. Only good for 150 or less guests though. The Vineyards will usually do something like that, you should go out east. A vineyard wedding is awesome. Good luck!!!!!
