Hello, Just got engaged on Sat!

Congrats & Welcome!! This site *is* addicting...but everyone here is SUPER helpful and you can talk to us about everything!!

Start with basics: budget, # of guests, venue...then you get to do all the fun stuff!!

Mostly, just remember to take it slow and try to be as flexible as possible (it really helps keep stress down!)

I agree! I feel like i need to get it all done soon.lol Thats just me being crazy, for now im just planning the engagement party.

welcome and congrats!! first pick out a date that you want and then figure out your budget - then you can start working on the RH and the vendors that'll fit within your budget! enjoy and let the fun begin!!!

oh and if you plan on getting married at a church - make sure they're available b/c we had to change our date with the RH b/c the church wasn't available that day! a year and a half in advance and it was already booked!

Enjoy your engagement, decide when you want to get married, and sit down with your family about how many people you want to invite. I did not think about guest #s until months after a place was booked and now I'm having issues, so save yourself the trouble and try to get a number from both sides of family. It will really help.

Yup People started asking us about a date IMMEDIATELY, as if we were supposed to have discussed that *before* he asked me to marry him. Then again, I know couples who did way more than that before getting engaged

My line of choice (for anyone other than my grandparents, who probably would have had a heart attack) was 'the wedding will be sometime before the baby comes'. After their shocked response, I'd add 'but it could be a few years...'

Congrats! Seriously, just bask in the newly engaged glow for a while before you start planning.

I agree that basking in that glow feels soooo good!!!!! Being newly engaged was definitely the most loved I have ever felt :)
