Thanks to everyone for their great advice. It's nice to know that there are girls out there that have gone through the same thing and can relate. I know my boyfriend and I are committed to each other and the ring is just around the corner. I also know that in my mind I always envisioned being engaged before the planning begins, so I guess in my gut I should wait before I look at any more places or really begin planning. We talked at length last night and decided if when we do get engaged our favorite place is no longer available, it wasn't meant to be and we'll be flexible with the date. Thanks again...I'll keep you posted!

if you are both on the same page and are serious about getting married, then I do not see why you need to wait for 'the ring'... if that is what you are waiting for.
I am not one for formalities, and actually I am not engaged in the traditional sense. Never really occurred to me that I should wait for anything once we finally decided to make it legal (after 12 years).
