I have a question....our wedding reception hall says we don't have to have place cards because they have a 'check in' when the guest arrive and they are brought to their tables. NOW...should I order something to hold table #'s??

Re: HELP!!
If you wish. It will be another decoration on the table..but it can't hurt to find out and see what your hall has as well.
I made ours...and the hall didn't put them out, they put theirs out...5 minutes before the ceremony I noticed (I wouldn't have cared had I not spent so much time making them) so I made them switch them out.

Re: HELP!!
Why are you so worried? You have plenty of time. I did not do my place cards yet. I did not give my final number yet to my hall and I am getting married in 3.5 weeks.

Yeah. This isn't something that you should worry about yet. Place cards are one of hte last things to get done.

Re: HELP!!
You might want to see if they will let you put up your own. Some of them put up their own.

WOW, you are doing that? There is this one woman that my mom works with who made a comment like 'Where is the church? I would really love to see her get married.' My mom and I felt bad because we are not inviting her co-workers but this woman made a comment about being there and since there is no church I didn't know what to do. Do you think you can pull that off? Won't there be the appropriate # of seats during the ceremony and if people are standing won't they know there are too many? I am paranoifd. I was hoping to ask my hall and they would let it slide. Hmmm

The reason I was worried is because if I have to order stuff to hold the placecards..that's more money that I didnt' fit in our budget. I know we have plenty of time..but I dont have plenty of $$

My hall does the same kind of seating. The way I look at it is, if they do that kind of seating, they must have some way of knowing which table is 'Table One, Table Two' etc, and I shouldn't be worried about it.

well, if they really want to come to just attend the ceremony, that should be ok, but make sure that's all they planned on....and from what i've heard, the hall doesn't take a final real count until the reception....so you should be ok...they wouldn't be taking people to their seats before the ceremony.
