I really don't want to call my RH Again with yet another question. (I have called every day for the past two weeks...)
I am trying to determine if I need to book my photographer and videographer past 10PM. Our ceremony starts at 3PM and so the timeline is killing me with additional coverage costs per hr...
generally, how late is the cake cutting????

our reception ended at midnight and our cake cutting was around 11:15 PM.
I'm not sure what you mean by needing your photog/video past 10PM, is that the time your reception is over?

No. The reception is over at 12AM. The packages we booked though only cover a certain amount of hours. Our church ceremony starts at 3pm. So if I wanted coverage of my getting dressed, etc through the end of the night it will cost a fortune. Thats 10 hrs of coverage. the packages are generally around 6 hrs.

You could always stage the cake cutting earlier, so that you get the pics you want without worrying about what time the actual cake cutting is done.

oh okay... our package was for 10 hours (I think?)
I personally wouldn't want to have to worry about it and would book them to the end, but that's just me. I feel like it would break up the dynamic of the night to have them leave before it's over. Can you maybe work something out with them, like have 1 photog come and relieve another one, so you don't have 2 going all day? I don't think you need to talk to your RH about it, rather I'd work it out with the photo studio. JMHO.

I know you dont want to call your RH again, but i would becuase they usually have that all planned out when the timing for everything is, it depends on the place. We had our cake cutting right after dinner i have been to weddings that did it differently. Dont worry about calling them its thier job to anwser the questions :)
if you get a timeline from them you will be able to better plan out whether or not you need your photographer there through the end.

You really should call your RH again and don't worry about bothering them - that's what your paying them for! My maitre'd had exact times that they do the cake and parents' dances. For me it was the cake at 11 and then the parents' dances immediately following.

I actually spoke with them yesterday and they said the cake cutting will be whenever want it to be
