Help!
I'm feeling really behind on several planning fronts (DJ and honeymoon probably being the two most pressing). Wednesday night I'm hoping to make at least ONE major step forward (and even got FH to leave work early to help), but now I have an issue. There's a honeymoon expo that I had planned on attending, but THEN I found out that one of our top choice DJ companies has a showcase AT OUR VENUE that same night...
What do I go to? What would you do and why? All opinions welcome!
TIA!

I would absolutely want to go see the DJ. I'd want to meet the people and see how they 'perform'. Sometime you can also get deals if you book with them the night of a showcase. As for the honeymoon, are you using a travel agent? Where are you considering going? Maybe some of us brides can give you info we've gathered/suggestions/experiences.

I agree you NEED to see this DJ in person. And they book fast so Id def try to see them. Are they available on your date? If they arent then I wouldnt bother going and I'd go to the Honeymoon expo. If not def see them.A travel agent can help you with a honeymoon easily. I know my Travel agent has booked with some LIW girls over the phone and via email if you cant get to her directly. If you would like her info FM me. Maybe she can take some of the stress off by doing some research for you.

I agree go to the DJ you need to see them in action and book early. I dont think you need to go to a honeymoon expo. You can research online or talk to any travel agent.

Absolutely get the DJ done. FH and I JUST booked our honeymoon this week (which was our last big thing to book). I'd hate for you to lose out on your favorite DJ. Chances are your honeymoon location will remain available but your DJ might not.

I agree with everyone else. Definitely the DJ!A travel agent can help you and probably give you the exact same info you'd get at the honeymoon expo anytime!

Help!
Thanks, everyone.I think the problem is that I was just distinctly underwhelmed by the travel agent we did go to see. I felt like she was not terribly knowledgeable and didn't really go out of her way to help/give us new information. FH and I have unfortunately had VERY little travel experience, but the few things she found for us were as a result of MY suggestions. She seemed flat-out surprised a couple of times. Maybe I just need a different travel agent.
Suggestions?

Just wanted to let you know, I went to that honeymoon 'expo' last night, and it was a complete waste of time/energy/gas. I was also insulted by the people running the whole thing (Creative Travel). One of the agents saw us across the room, stomped over, and asked if we knew what 'this was'. Then she had the nerve to question if I was even getting married! To make matters worse the advertised 'raffles' and 'grand prize' was a joke. In order to receive the grand prize (5 night trip to Hawaii) you had to book 11 nights with them. There was no mention of this on the email blast. We also found out when we got there that in order to receive any of the other raffle prizes that night (cruise gift baskets, etc), you had to book with them. When we left an extremely condescending/rude man from the company (wish I got his name) harassed us and asked if 'we only came for a raffle'. Did they really think I would ever book my honeymoon through them after that!

i wonder if this is illegal- isnt that why most raffles/ giveaways say 'no purchase necessary'
