Hi! I just got engaged a couple weeks ago and I am already in a panic about reception venues. I want somewhere that has good food, and indoor/out door facilities and nice classy decor (nothing outdated).I am looking to have in on a Friday evening over the summer. Does anyone have any suggestions as to places that might be good? The added dilemma is that I currently live in Boston so I need to make a concise list of the top places and just go see those places. I was hoping someone could lead me in the right direction. Pricing I am looking at is about $70-$80 pp which would include sitdown dinner, open bar, facility and cake (main things) plus any other extras. And minimum person requirement 120 or under.
These are the places I have found online that I am interested in but I have never been to any of them so just wondering if anyone could provide input on these places and/or suggest others that might be a good match. Also, I am looking for ceremony on site (pref. outdoors). These are the venues I was thinking about: 1. Betty’s Catering - Skylight room WWW.BETTYSCATERING.COM $50 pp buffet, $78 pp sitdown
You will get that price and it includes all of what you are looking for. Hotel on site, you are on the water so you get beautiful pictures and a gorgeous village for your guests to walk around. It is right next to the Ferry that comes in from Connecticut so if you have any guests coming in from New England, it makes it very easy for them.
The food is fantastic as is the service. You also get a free room/wedding night stay at the hotel. Definitely worth checking out!

Re: Help! Affordable yet nice reception venues???
When i first got engaged i made a list on Excel of all the places i wanted to visit with their website, phone number and address. Here are a few of them. We chose Sunset Harbour because it was within our budget, we do not know many people we know have been there and the reception hall it is so pretty. The women we dealt with was Christina. She is so sweet and answered any questions we had. She also let us pop in whenever we wanted to so we can look around again. Good luck in your search.

Leanords offererd us 120 a plate on a satuday in January. We got much better offers though from other vendors. For a friday in the summer im not sure what the costs will be, but money was the first thing the banquet manager told us about. I was unimpressed to saythe least

Re: Help! Affordable yet nice reception venues???
Sunset Harbour gave us a price of around 75 pp for a September evening on a Saturday! It went down to 70 pp when we told the venue manager we were both volunteer firefighters. But now it gives us a little room to add more stuff that they charge additional for.

Hi...I just got married at Fox Hollow on a sat afternoon. The ceremony and cocktail were outside. Everything was above and beyond my expectations. The food and service were amazing...it was 79 pp and worth every penny. You can FM me if you have any ??. If I had to do it all over again I would still pick the Fox!!!!

I think Watermill is out of your budget and the windows may be too. The meadow club has outdoor ceremony site, reasonable price and includes many extra. Joe is very good to work with. It is in PJS, so I don't know if it is too far east for you. Min of 120 is fine with them also.

Miller Ridge Inn was very affordable and I thought it was beautiful...
My first wedding was planned at Timber Point and I got a great deal (lost all the $$ though cause I called it off).
Good Luck!!

Thats what i'm doing as well! I hope its nice out so i can have my CH in the garden too!! Its good to know that you had a great experience.
Fox Hollow gave me the most for my money based on all the RH's i visited.. and it was even cheaper if i wanted a winter wedding (they will even throw in a free night at the inn if you get married in the off season)...
GL on your search!!

Jericho Terrace is amazing! We're paying 67pp for a Sat. afternoon in July. Our min. was 160 for the dome room. However, they have other rooms that have smaller minimums!
Wow!!! 67pp for a Sat afternoon in July. The Friday evenings tend to be about $15-20 more pp. If this is the case I might be able to afford Jericho terrace... HMM....
Thanks for all of the input. You ladies are AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
