can someone reccomend someone who does alterations and cleaning.
Now that I bought the dress, I don't know where to go.
Saks has a person, but I want to compare prices

Well, what about Phyllis at Bridal Elegance (in Dix Hills, I think...?) for alterations?

I don't know about cleaning. I bought a sample dress as well, and I think I'm going to take it to Phyllis (eventually) to have her alter it.

I'm using a cleaners up here (Boston) that is giving me $100 off - they're called Dependable Cleaners and they specialize in wedding dresses. They do it all by hand. Maybe they are a chain? I know they have a website if you google them.

Good luck!

thanks beachbum for answering. I feel like the site is not as active anymore.

So Phyllis will alter dresses not purchased at her shop, ? Didn't know that. I just spoke to Saks cleaner and they will do it for $295 (discount). I thought that was pretty good.

Yea I didn't expect girls who were getting their dresses made from the designer to answer...so no worries

i bought a sample too and am also looking for a place for alterations (not so much cleaning as I don't think the dress was ever even tried on!!). I'll let you know if I hear of anything...so far I can't offer any advice.
