I'm hoping to hear from guests from weddings at the Royalton in Roslyn Heights and/or the North Ritz in Syosset. Did you have a good experience? How was the food and the service? What was your impression of the place? Any feedback would be helpful. I am planning on a summer wedding, I like an outdoor cocktail hour, about 200 guests, very italian family who value good tasting and large quantities of food. Please help! Thank you :)

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I can't help too much, but I'm also biased towards NRC I'm having my big 200-person Italian wedding there in June, and they've been nothing but wonderful so far! I'm going for my tasting this weekend and am ecstatic about it

I'm also biased towards NRC, but I've spoken with several brides who have gotten married there and haven't heard a bad thing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I have never attended a function at NRC.
I did attend my sister's wedding and a friend's wedding at Royalton. Both were beautiful events with excellent food and service. Royalton does require you to use one of two florists. My sister opted to pay a vendor waiver fee, though, to use a different florist.

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
We had a huge Italian wedding at NRC-235 was our final count. DH's entire family is from Italy.
The food and service at NRC was unbelievable! Read my review, there's tons of pics and a rave about NRC.
I've never been to the Royalton, but 2 2009 NW's, Kerri and Allgera had their weddings there. The pics are gorgeous!!
Good luck! You can't go wrong with either place!

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I went to a fab wedding at the royalton, but I had my wedding at NRC. NRC has much more room for guests and a hugeeee cocktail hour room. I loved the food at both places, but I think NRC's ballroom is much much more spaciuos.... fm me for more info about specifics, I got married there 53 days ago!

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I've never been to the NRC, but I went to a wedding at the Royalton. It was beautiful and the food was great. The couple getting married were not Italian and there was nothing Italian in their menu, so you might want to check to see if they do the Italian things (pasta course, 'real' italian cheeses and coldcuts at the cocktail hour, etc.). I think the room may be a little cramped for 200. But it really is stunning....

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
Thank you all for your help. It is a tough choice but I'm glad to hear about so many good experiences at both places. I am concerned about the size of the ballroom at the royalton as one person mentioned. For the price he quoted us there is a guarantee of 220 and I think it will be a bit tight. Pros and cons with both places

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
FH and I were deciding b/w Royalton and NRC and went with NRC for a bunch of reasons - main reason being the price per head. But I love NRC and the few months that I've dealt with them has been great. They also mentioned to us that if we wanted to change some of the food for our CH to cater to our cultures, that they would be willing to do that. Plus what I loved about NRC was the bar in the ballroom. If I can remember, I dont think there was one in the Royalton

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I got married at the Royalton and it was a dream! I had 210 about and it wasnt too crowded, so many people were blown away by their attention to detail. The food was amazing! Good Luck!

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I almost got married at the Royalton! I'm still in love with it but I went with my fiances pick. Ive heard wonderful things about the NRC as well! I love the farewell table at the Royalton and also the homey feeling! THe best part is that you can stay overnight and have a personal butler in the morning serve you and your husband breakfast!!

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I too say NRC I am getting married there in August. We have a 300 person guest list and I am very confident in the NRC. I have been to a wedding there and it was probably one of the best weddings I have been to. The food is great. I did my tasting already I had mine in July we left the tasting raving about the food. I wish I could go for another tasting. They are amazing to work with. I worked with Nadine she is a sweetheart.

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
The food and the service is second to none at the Royalton. I've been to weddings at NRC, and they were very nice, but I'm sorry, they didn't compare to the Royalton Mansion in my opinion.

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I've been to both. I went to a wedding at Royalton and had my own wedding at NRC. They are both beautiful venues and both places put on one hell of a wedding!
It really depends on what you are going for. I think anything more than 175 at the Royalton is tight. NRC has a lot more space and think it would suit a 200+ wedding better.
But they are two totally different venues so it really depends on what exactly you are looking for.

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
BTW, the Royalton can easily accommodate 225 people. Kerri had her party there last year around that amount and had rave reviews. Its a very classy place.

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
The only negative thing I've heard about the Royalton is that it is not big enough. When I went to NRC, my only issue was that coat check was downstairs. But that won't be a problem for you in June!
