Help deciding between NRC and Royalton

Original post by Pupida2011

I'm hoping to hear from guests from weddings at the Royalton in Roslyn Heights and/or the North Ritz in Syosset. Did you have a good experience? How was the food and the service? What was your impression of the place? Any feedback would be helpful. I am planning on a summer wedding, I like an outdoor cocktail hour, about 200 guests, very italian family who value good tasting and large quantities of food. Please help! Thank you :)

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton

Just went to weddings at both places this past summer....
I really liked the gardens in NRC, but in all fairness, it was raining the day I was at the Royalton.

I liked the dinner entree just a little bit more at the Royalton....(yummy chilean sea bass) but I enjoyed cocktail hour at NRC more b/c they had both indoor and outdoor seating.

Both are awesome places, you can't go wrong.

they do have indoor/outdoor CH at the royalton, weather permitting. *fingers crossed* we'll be having our CH half inside and half on the outdoor patio.. where we'll have a grill station outside!

also re: NRC, i don't like how it's right off Jericho Tpk. too busy but that's just my opinion. it's right by my mom's house too, so i always drive by it, and maybe that takes some of the allure away!

I looked at both venues for my wedding. Didn't end up booking either of them, but the Royalton blew me away. Thought it was was absolutely gorgeous, but way out of my price range. NRC didn't strike me in the same way, but it was much cheaper than the Royalton. If it doesn't blow your budget, I would go with The Royalton.
