I'm hoping to hear from guests from weddings at the Royalton in Roslyn Heights and/or the North Ritz in Syosset. Did you have a good experience? How was the food and the service? What was your impression of the place? Any feedback would be helpful. I am planning on a summer wedding, I like an outdoor cocktail hour, about 200 guests, very italian family who value good tasting and large quantities of food. Please help! Thank you :)

BTW, the Royalton can easily accommodate 225 people. Kerri had her party there last year around that amount and had rave reviews. Its a very classy place.
Yes, it can accomodate it but I think it would be tight. The cocktail space is also sort of tiny for that amount of people. The wedding I was at had around 150 and the CH room was packed and filled to the brim.

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I can't thank you enough for your help. It seems like they are both really nice places. The food and service might be better at the Royalton but it is also smaller and more expensive. Not sure which look I prefer. Food and service are very important to us but there is a big price difference and there is still the issue of being cramped. Not sure yet

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
i really really loved the royalton - but the price was such a huge factor - we're looking at about 200 guests and at the price that he was quoting us at, it just wasn't worth it cuz we're paying for the wedding ourselves. i love NRC and one thing that Royalton had was that they cater to whatever food you wanted. But NRC told us that they could accomodate us to foods we want that weren't on their list. good luck with ur choice again!

I don't want to argue... BUT I totally disagree! The Royalton cocktail room has that lounge in the cocktail space which can be removed for larger parties (it was for mine). Don't forget about the courtyard and gardens for additional space as well. If you've never been to a larger party than 150 people you just don't know how well it works there.

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
There is NO place on Long Island like the Royalton. Every single event is customized to the bride and groom, and their specific needs. We looked at over a dozen places from Manhattan to Wading River, and went so far as to have tastings at 4 different venues before deciding. The Royalton is the last place we looked, and we booked at our amazing tasting. They can definitely accommodate 220 people. Easily. I was in my friend KerriJohnS's wedding there in November and she had over 200 and it was perfect. I would highly recommend the Royalton to anyone looking for a UNIQUE one of a kind wedding.

THAT'S MEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHA!
SO here's my 2 cents on The Royalton!!
LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED LOVED IT!!! It was HANDS DOWN THE BEST DECISION I MADE!!!! I Can't say that enough!! From the gorgeous layout and rooms to the space to the menu's to the service to the food and that WONDERFUL cake!! ALL OF IT!!
I had a little over 200... maybe 210 I think was the final count. It was spacious!! there was PLENTY of room. No one ever felt cramped... there really is plenty of room... please don't decide based on that... I promise there IS enough room!! I just received my video and even on video it looks spacious. The CH room may seem small... but they opened the courtyard and since it was November, it was tented and heated for my wedding. There is that outdoor space that really offers more room that I think people tend to forget about. Then the couch area as well. Plus there are 4 bridal suites upstairs (all amazingly gorgeous!!). The ballroom... is like NONE I've seen anywhere we looked. I personally LOVED the hardwood floors in the entire room. The chandeliers, the EVERYTHING!!
We too looked at about 10 places, and NONE compared to The Royalton. After having my wedding there.... it still stands at the top of the list for me. The service was AMAZING... the attention to detail they they do is really impeccable. The staff all cares... the waiters... all of them. I watched them in action for another wedding... and I was blown away. I can't tell you how many compliments I received after my wedding. People were blown away by every aspect of the place. I kept hearing people saying 'they've never been to a wedding like that' ... they felt so comfortable because it's so cozy. It's just such a nice place. And it was the PERFECT palate for the theme I was going for. It's the perfect palate for any wedding.... it's just an elegant looking place that works great with any color or decor. The food really was top notch too.
And YES they can have Italian food there... coldcuts... all of it. They FULLY CUSTOMIZE IT TO YOUR LIKING!!! That's something you don't get ANYWHERE else!! They even specially ordered fruit punch in for me.... I like fruit punch and gray goose.... and that's what I got!! HAHA... and let's not forget my bridal attendant who fed me all night long... she also held my drink for me most of the night! She was the most amazing person that night!!! I can't even begin to tell you how spectacular their service is.
I've never been to the NRC.... so i don't know much about that place and thus I can't say much. I don't even know what it looks like.
But I can say how fabulous the royalton was!! they really were!!! If it were me.... and I had to do it all over again... one thing would for sure remain the same.... THE ROYALTON!!! I'm DYING for someone to get married there so I can be a guest!!!! SERIOUSLY I really am!!!!!
Please check out my pro pix.... you can see it all set up... and remember that room is set up for over 200 people!!!
AHH... now i want a wedding do over... I just want to have my wedding at the royalton again!!!!

Yes, it can accomodate it but I think it would be tight. The cocktail space is also sort of tiny for that amount of people. The wedding I was at had around 150 and the CH room was packed and filled to the brim.
I can see that happening... but with larger weddings they DEF open that courtyard area and if the weather is bad.... they tent it and heat it if need be. They did this for me... I didn't even know they were doing it!!! I did say... I wanted the courtyard open. I promise... it wasn't tight at all. I was down there myself... and I was surprised by how much room there was. the key is that courtyard area though!!! If it's not open then YES it will be tight... bit with that amount of people they HAVE to open the courtyard. They put all tables and chairs out there. and some food tables as well. It really worked out perfectly. Is there 200 plus chairs for all to sit??? NO... but the point of CH is to mingle, get food and drinks, and mingle more. I promise with all my 210 guests in the CH room.... there most definitely was enough room and everyone was comfortable.

I didn't know they could do that - glad they did that for you because I know you had a huge wedding!
I was really impressed by the Royalton! I just was giving an honest opinion above - but since you've actually 'lived it' so to speak obviously your opinion holds a bit more weight, eh?

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I love the Royalton so much, definitely would have been my RH if I didn't have a 250 person guest list. They said we could open up the ballroom by taking away from the cocktail hour room and moving the cocktail hour into the courtyard. It felt like I'd be giving up too much of what I loved about the place. Moving the cocktail hour into the courtyard, putting a tent up if it rains. It all made me nervous. They kept convincing me I could do it, and said they'd call me to come in and see them set up at 300 person wedding. They never called.
I'd be weary of having more than 225 people in that room. I am going to be a BM in a wedding there in August. Will definitely have a review for you girls then.

Re: Help deciding between NRC and Royalton
I have actually never attended a wedding at either of these places, but my parents did go to one at NRC and thought it was GREAT! They raved about the food and I loveeeee the room there! The dance floor and bar are beautiful! I am not familiar with Royalton, but NRC has my vote!
