HELP! DJ pricing (for just reception, and also with ceremony and CH)?
I met with a DJ tonight and was told $2000 for a 4 hour reception (just a DJ, no extra MC, no lights, etc), and then for an extra $500 they would also do the ceremony and CH background music (all DJ, no live music). I feel like this might be a bit too much -- how does this compare:
1) To what you were quoted for just a reception DJ (I was quoted $2000); and
2) To what you were quoted for a DJ handling the reception, but also the ceremony and CH music (I was quoted $2500).

I got a DJ and MC for the reception for $1095.... but it also came with CH music and party lights. So, really it's 5 hours for $1095. I'm not sure what ceremony costs because our ceremony music is provided by the church

What are they giving you for $2000? And, $500 just to do the ceremony seems like alot.
What other companies did you check out?

With my dj before I added room lighting my package was $2175 and that was with 4 hours, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, and advanced dance lighting. out of that amount only $200 was for ceremony.

that seems like a bit much for what they are offering......i HIGHLY recommend that you check out the company that i'm using......Ultimate Sounds DJ.......fm me if you would like more info

I agree. I went with Spin Around Sound and they had 6 packages!

That sounds pretty high. We paid $1800 for 1 DJ/1 MC, ceremony, CH, and reception (4hours) music.

sounds expensive!!!! I am paying $1640 for cocktail hour, 5 hour reception, and a dinner singer. FM me if you want details. With my DJ you could get a DJ/MC for around $1100

If I remember correctly, 1150 for Ch and Reception
I didnt use a DJ for the ceremony so I cant help with that but that sounds high to me

Um Yeah. I got for $750.00 one DJ for 5hrs (cocktail hour + reception). And they are so nice. I can FM you who if you want!

that is really high - we got a ton of extras with an extra hour and the cocktail and ceremony for $1595
