Help - Florists names & Pricing Needed

Original post by akaMrsT

Hi ladies,

I am putting together a budget so we can decide which hall we can afford. We plan to have about 150 guests - 15 centerpieces. I will only have 3 bridesmaids and FI may only have a best man (his brother but he has 3 brothers so lets just say 3 best men).

I need florist pricing and names of florist.

My colors will be purple, lavender and silver. I want purple flowers (roses are fine) and some lillies. FI wants tall centerpieces with spiraled candles like he saw in a reception hall this weekend. It was very tall with roses, white lillies and greenery at the top (fairly wide diameter) and three candles in a spiral going down to the base which also had greenery and roses (no lillies). It was beautiful but looked very expensive!

I recall that one bride mentioned that she spent $1700 at Burtons for:
15 centerpieces (tall or short???)
bridal bouquet
7 girls bouquets
11 boutineers
4 corsages
roses for bubble bowls at cocktail hour
rose petals for aisle
rose petals for cake table
rose petals for place card table
tulle and bows for aisle
two standing pieces for the altar
and centerpieces for the bridal suite and placecard table

Thanks in advance for your help.

I am using Burton's and they are by far the most inexpensive place around....

Lots of folks on the boards also rave about Flower Michelle.

James said he can't do tall centerpieces with that budget - but maybe short ones.

FI wants tall so they are off the list.

Personally, I do not care for high CPs (don't jump all over me for this one girls! I've seen MANY of your sample high CPs and they are beautiful, just not my style- and all of our weddings are about our individual style, right?). Anyway, I just wanted to make you aware that low centerpieces do NOT necessarily mean lower prices. I'm sure some of the girls who have had low CPs will agree...

Jennifer from Verbena worked with me and my budget...there was some negotiating, but she's honest about what kind of flowers will help you achieve your budget, and she's very creative. Most of all, she was EXTREMELY professional. She sent me two detailed proposals, prompt phone call returns and wasn't turned off by my 1K limit. you might give her a call! Verbena Designs

Re: Help - Florists names & Pricing Needed

Hi-I emailed you lats night and unfortunately, my compuetr froze! I highly recommend the forist I am using. She is in Center Moriches (near Giorgios, should you decide to have your reception there). Her name is Jennifer and she is in business with her mom and sister. Her mom has been in buisness for yeras and is meticulous about ordering from the best flower growers all over Europe, etc. They are wonderfully talented and VERY reasonable. Jennifer's siter alos works there and she worked for my mom in her antique store. If you call there (I'm afraid I can't find her number but their shop is called 'By the Bunch' in Moriches) ask to speak with Jennifer and tell her I sent you. Remind her that her sister used to work for Laura's (my mom) antiques shop, 'The Cottage' in Center Moriches. My parents had a huge arrangement sent to a funeral parlor for their friend's father who passed away and people were flippingf over the arrangement Jennifer did. Their flowers are so fresh and huge they sometimes look fake! Good luck!

Thanks so much - The number for By the Bunch is (631) 874-2180.

Our flower budget is severely cut due to the number of people we expect now (about 150) but I will still need bridal party flowers. Our centerpiece will be very simple.

Thanks for the info ladies.
