Help for Color Palette at Westbury Manor

Hello! I'm new to the wire and recently engaged. Just booked our reception for 6/17/16 at Westbury Manor. Our reception is in the Manor room which has rich dark wood walls and I believe tan/beige drapery. I'm trying to determine a color palette for bridesmaid dresses and floral arrangements. I'd like to make the room look a bit brighter and plan on using their purple lighting and hopefully some additional up-lighting. Any suggestions on a color palette for a summer wedding that compliments dark wood but also brightens it up a bit??

Congrats on booking your venue already!! I'm new too. I just got engaged over the weekend. What about reds, coral, different shades of pink ?

Congratulations and welcome! Yes, corals! Beautiful for the summer. Pops of blue and yellow can definitely brighten up any dark space as well. Any color will work as long as the props used are light in color as well. Have you thought of a theme? That can help with the color choice too.

Re: Help for Color Palette at Westbury Manor

Thank you both! Theme? I suppose I'm attempting a classic and timeless theme. The venue and room have that old world charm and I'm looking at colors to brighten it up and compliment it at the same time. I do like coral but need to consider the type of lighting. I really wanted purple lighting and up-lighting but afraid it might clash and need to reconsider something else.

We're doing purple uplighting. Our colors are lavender/lilac, plum, and I guess silver. We're getting married in August.
