HELP HELP HELP (invitation wording)

Invitations are turning into a disaster...

Which do you like best??

'As they exchange wedding vows'

'As they are united in marriage'

'As they exchange marriage vows'

(OR SUGGEST SOMETHING ELSE)

***********************************

...and then.... what about these?

'Dinner and Dancing to Follow'

'Reception Immediately Following'

'Reception to Follow'

***********************************

AAAAND

'TWO THOUSAND TEN'
or
'TWO THOUSAND AND TEN'

***********************************

And should I indicate 'black tie' or leave it?

And should I put 'Together with their parents'? I think the only person who will care if it's not there is my mom...

I like 'As they exchange wedding vows' best! Also, I used 'Reception Immediately Following'. I think if your mom would mind if your parents are left off the invite...then put them on and just avoid that argument!

ETA: i would also use two thousand and ten, sorry missed that one!

I like 'as they exchange marriage vows' bc you're vowing to more than just tht day, right? it's two thousand AND ten, put 'together with your parents' if your mom wants it and you hve the room, then why not....

Not sure about the reception part bc I am trying to play around with the wording of mine too (and it's not immediately following)..............

oh, adn if it's black tie, then you should definitely put it on there. I wouldn't think blacktie if it were not written. In fact, I definitely exercise the 'option' at 'black tie optional' (i don't have anything like that!!!)

'As they are united in marriage'

'Reception to Follow'

'TWO THOUSAND AND TEN'

Leave 'black tie' off, and put 'together with parents' if you think your mom would be offended.

Does 'United in marriage' sound church like?

'As they exchange wedding vows'
'Reception Immediately Following'
'Two Thousand and Ten'

Also, my parents are paying for basically the whole thing but I put 'together with their parents' because I didn't want to deal with hearing about it if I didn't.

i think it sounds the most traditional so maybe if you associate traditional with church then yeah a little but who cares, you are still getting married and unless its by a justice of the peace, i would still use it.

'TWO THOUSAND TEN'

Re: 2010 -- my invite lady said both are technically correct. However, math teachers believe the 'and' means a decimal.

If you have room, add the Together with their parents if your mom will be upset if its missing.

And I say add the black tie to the bottom if its what you want. We are!

as they are united in marriage.

reception to follow (dinner and dancing bah blah is too casual)

two thousand and ten

i'm putting my parents names on it because they coughed up money, FH's parents didn't.

and don't put black tie if you don't expect people there in tuxes.

I like....

as they are united in marriage

two-thousand ten

and

I like... together with their parents

oh and Reception to follow (forgot that one)

* I didn't add black tie but I did have Formal Attire on the reception card. We have LOTS of OOT'ers and though it was a good idea to give them an idea of whats normal at a NY wedding so they don't feel out of place. I think Black Tie indicates a tux for men and a gown for women. Formal Attire can mean a suit for the men and any length dress for a woman.

Re: HELP HELP HELP (invitation wording)

As much as I would like people in tuxes I don't think most of them will do it and I am sure FH's mom will throw a fit.

And for the 'Together with their parents' other than half of my dress, my hair/makeup, veil and the flowers my parents aren't paying for anything else and his parents haven't contributed a dime so it was more out of respect, like they give their blessing kind of thing.
