Help! I have a Church question?

I have a question for anyone who has booked their church. My fiance wants to get married in a Catholic church however I was only baptized Catholic and haven't recieved my other sacraments. I don't want to recieve my sacraments. Am I going to have a problem finding a churh to perform our ceremony? Any advice?? Thanks!

They don't ask about other sacraments- you just need to provide you baptisimal certificate if you weren't baptised at that church.

my FI was only baptised and they told him he had to get the sacraments before the wedding so he is getting his first communion on easter sunday, after going to classes for 8 months once a week

You don't even have to be Catholic to get married in a Catholic church. You just can't have a full mass, you can only have a ceremony.

I think it may also depend on the particular parish...some are stricter than others

Well at least one of you needs to be catholic. Some churches are more strict then others so it really depends. I haven't had any of my sacraments but since my dh had all of his they really didn't give me too much of a problem ( but I couldn't have a full mass)
Some of the other churches in my area told us I would need to receive my sacraments or I could not get married in that particular church at all.

Most churches asked us about all the sacraments... but they only needed actual proof of the baptisim ( they needed a copy of the baptism certificate)

The bap. cert has the dates you received your sacraments. The church uses this as proof that they have been fulfilled. As far as I have been told you need to have them before you can get married in the Roman catholic church.

I think it depends on the church.
FH didn't make his comformation but for my church he didn't need it. We both just had to provide baptismal certificates.

I also think it depends on the church, but my understanding is that if you were baptized Catholic, and did not receive other sacraments, they want you to be confirmed before you are married - I think when you do this as an adult, it takes care of the sacraments you would have received as a kid (eucharist and reconciliation) and then confirmation. Again, I would check with the parish where you want to get married to be sure. the reason that they only ask for your baptismal certificate is because in theory, a record of all your other sacraments should be listed on the back of the baptismal certificate when you get the copy.

Non-Catholics can only get married in a Catholic church if they are marrying a Catholic.
