I have a nice sleeper couch that i desperately need to get rid of! (I am having a baby in September and its in the nursery!) I had the salvation arm at my apt this morning and they said they wouldn't take it because it was 'dirty' its not dirty they just didn't want to carry it down the steps, I called St. Vincent De Paul and they want us to bring it to them. My last resort is to throw it out. I really don't want to do this its such a shame. Any suggestions would be appreciated!!

might not be the best answer...but if you can't donate it, why not just throw it out?
do you have any family members of friends that just moved and need a couch?
would you use it again in the future that you can store it somewhere?
or....Craig's List might be another option for you

I have a pick-up truck if need help bringing it anywhere. Otherwise try local charities... homeless shelters, animal shelters, hospice centers, senior citizens groups.

We just donated a bunch of furniture not too long ago. I can't remember the name, I have to ask my DH. They pretty much take anything. I'll get back to you.

I feel bad throwing it out. I feel like someone less fortunite could use it but so far that might be looking like my only option! DH is getting frustrated! i tried to porn it off on my parents, and other family members but nobody has room for it! I am going to look into Craigs list. Thanks!
