So I have decided to wear my grandmothers wedding dress from the early 40's. I need to completely restore it...and I only have the bodice. I need to re-make the entire thing, but I have no idea who or where to go to to get it made...I need an unbelievable dressmaker and I can not find anything on the internet...anyone have any suggestions?

i have two names but one is manhattan and one is queens nyc~ is Anne Hamilton~ she specializes in redesigning vintage dresses. If you search her on line you will see her site and write up in New York magazine. queens~ Simply Different in Astoria. Dress designer and maker. FM me if you want more details. Re: Help! I Need a Dressmaker...
may I make a suggestion..... Don't go about it as if you're repairing a contemporary dress....
You shouldn't go to a dress maker..... you should find someone who restores antique dresses.....
Maybe go to this show and ask if someone knows of a vintage dress repair person
